I think it's rather more interesting that the article was written at all since the whole of Barrow share just the one old quill pen which is primarily used to tickle the devils out of the mad folk.

This is the most telling quote from his article and rather shoots down the rest of the drivel he's written.

The RFL set the rules, not Widnes. I have ranted like a mad spoon about the "on-field" achievements of Widnes but that rant has ALWAYS been levelled at the RFL. They have an opportunity to put that right after the next round of licenses and if they've half a brain they won't be giving any guarantees out.

Are we really that surprised? It's bad enough listening to the local radio up there with their completely biased commentary. It's surely a small step for the local rag to join in.

I know it gets quite a bit of stick but could you imagine the Weekly news posting an article aimed at bashing a rivals application with inaccuracies and lies.

It just seems easier to knock our club when the authors of such diatribe struggle to come up with points in favour of their own clubs.

I will say having a go at the guys looks is a bit out of order, stupid though the article is. But having a pop at Barrow fans is largely a reaction to similar twaddle by some visiting fans to this site.
