Certainly Leigh and Fax are closest after Widnes to satifying all the criteria.

the 2,500 though its difficult to achieve because there is no real goal from a season, a grand final victory is the target at the start of the season but theres not much else for the fans to be motivated to turn upto games.

Widnes have done brilliantly to keep there average above 2,500 especially with the season you guys have had to date.

i have no idea how Halifax can get that average up espcially with you guys going to super league, you raise our averge with the amount of fans you bring, with you guys gone i fear our average will go down over the next few years not up.

you should think yourselves lucky.you've got featherstone on the up,dewsbury on the up and the team that loses its franchise is likely to be from yorkshire.
all we [leigh] can hope for is oldham come up and are very competitive so that they bring a few supporters with them.

Don't forget though, in all likelihood next year you will have a yorkshire team coming down, Wakefield or Castleford. They are going to help your crowds if we're not around.

I have no problem with the RFL setting a minimum attendance criteria , as long as they then start helping clubs achieve it , all clubs , but thursday night TV games dont help and niether does having a ' gimick ' club like Toulouse help either

Basically chucking a quarter of a million quid a year into the English channel in some pointless exercise to try to make the Championship ' sexy ' is a really daft idea

I'd rather they split it among the clubs and insist on a free attendance match or other marketing intiative

I think it has since been deleted as I was compiling this reply. I was thinking of leaving it so was mulling it over and saw that they have removed the comment. I honestly don't know how to feel about this. If they've cheated, they stand to benefit at our expense, but they're only really cheating the rfl and I still don't think they're anywhere near us.

Another suggestion made was the fans were counted back in during a fire drill, essentially they attended the same match twice. I suspect it will all come out in the wash. If they have cheated, the RFL will certainly hold it against them more than not meeting the criteria in the first place.

The 2500 is laughable. Most relegated clubs in SL would struggle in non promotion league.

All this has done has got everyone talking about whether someone has told a white lie about a crowd - is that really where we want to see our "sport" going? The whole thing is ridiculous, you know it is, we know it is. Even though you guys rightly have one leg in the super league bed, you must admit something has to be done.

If it werent all true and created by the very people paid vast amounts to protect the games future and all those playing it, it would be laughable.
