| [iNot our fault Sammy boy gets to pick and choose when he fancied playing![/i
So he only wants to play in competitive games, does he? While he's obviously a once-in-a-generation talent, he's getting way way too big for his boots I'm afraid.

| Quote: Father Ted "Ryan Hampshire and Lewis Tierney will make their Wigan debuts on Friday.
They, along with George Williams, played for the England U18s against France two/three weeks ago.
Seems Wigan will be without Tomkins, poss Charnley, Richards, Green, Smith, Prescott, Dudson, McIlorum, Farrell, O'Loughlin & Flower.
Any of you Widnes fans fancy your chances?'"
I fancy our chances. Why not. Wigan are a class outfit even with some players out and will be a tough nut for any team to crack.
Can't wait for this one!

If Carlsberg made rugby clubs, they would be like Widnes!: |
|
| After the backlash Wane got when we beat Wigan last season, I'm a bit surprised by this potential injury list and his statement that he intended fielding youngsters anyway.
Wondering if this is a a ruse to catch Widnes off guard?

| Hopefully Cahill will be back for this one. I fancy our chances for this one more than I did against Catalan, however we are depleted ourselves so should be a good game.

Mate Widnes also had 8 players missing.

| From a neutrals point of view,a good competitive game, which could have gone either way but I suppose Wigan just about deserved to edge it.A number of good youngsters on show from both sides and a decent crowd to encourage O'Connor.Shame,I would have quite liked a narrow Widnes win.

| A genuine question - Can anyone tell me why Childs didn't allow Advantage when Owens intercepted a Wigan forward pass on the 6th tackle near the Widnes line, with an open field ahead of him, instead of blowing for the forward pass and insisting on a Widnes PTB?

| Because (unusually) the linesman was so quick off the mark to call the forward pass the ref blew immediately.

He was just as quick to disallow the Gelling try for a forward pass later in the game.

It's Sods Law again! They miss the many offsides and other forward passes - but pick up on the one they should have allowed the Advantage rule on....
One day, just maybe, we'll get the rub of the green off Childs.

| Can i just ask, What the hell are you waffling on about?
What other offsides and forward passes. All from Wigan too i suppose? As far as i could see every decision was correct and although you don't like it, The forward pass on the 6th try was also correct.
An extreme case of sour grapes and envy.

Childs was fine, it was our own stupidness at times which cost us the game.
