I think we'll take around 1000 to Cas. Cas was our first away game in SL last night and i remember our end being rammed. Maybe 1500 to Wigan, think i was a bit off with the earlier figures. I still stand by the fact i think we will average1000-1500 away, not 2000.

You could be right about that one.

Will be good to resume our games again, KR were terrific in that season and we had fun ripping the pee out of each other.'"
Absoloutely, I don't mean to blow our own trumpet but I've not seen a team match that Rovers team of 06' in terms of skill or flair.
On the fan side, it's always fun with Widnes, I always remember being given a right set of abuse by Widnes neanderthals on a bus back from the Town Centre at Wazza after the Grand Final, happy days!

That side was something else for this division. And the Castleford side the year after wasn't bad either. We didn't have much luck pre-licensing.

We made a few mistakes with coaches, and often sides would come down from super league with parachute payments and the skeleton of a super league squad. Hull KR though, I admired what they did that year more than what Castleford managed or Salford. They targetted the year they knew two sides were coming down from SL, where the player pool would be shallower, they hired a young coach which was a risk and they played the best brand of rugby. Deserved what they've got, then and since.

| The biggest mistake Widnes made post 2007 was FAR too much chopping and changing, a year of not getting to a GF was followed by a 10+ player overhaul of squad (ok 2008 nothing we could do). That Hull KR side had been assembled over a few years and had a good 2005 building to 2006.
Then you only have to look at Sheffield now and Leigh, Fev also, little bits of tinkering each year and become a force, we'd rather get shut and hope those who came in would gel and be a success staright away.

This is why Liverpool are so crap incidentally. Spend big, every year, but instead of one or two world class players, it's around 7 average signings like Poulsen.

Hmmm.... Liverpool's problem in recent (especially under Rafa) years was that it was a one in one out policy to balance the books near enough so we couldn't sign World Class without letting someone else go so we never had a squad of established players it was either a star starter or a youngster / average player trying to make the grade.
Poulsen etc? Let's not even bloody go there

Actually, Liverpool's spending has been anything but balanced. If you look at the various charts, there are only the two billionaire clubs City and Chelsea who have outspent them and there is something like a £130 million difference over the last 8 years between bought and sold. Your net spend after deductions for sales is the third highest in the league. You've overhauled your squad every year and brought in too many average rubbish players instead of planning a long term improvement by buying two or three very good players, that's your problem.
