The problem is, as PC stated the other day, I think we used something like 33 players this year. You can look at our 1st choice 17 from this year all you want, but just how many times did we get to play the same 17? Our team looked strong at the start of the year but signings like Wildbore, Sam Thompson just didn't work and players like Duffy, Morrison or Fletcher were often out injured.

IMO we will be far stronger, next year. Morrison played in the front row for us for a couple of years, but I don't think he would have got in the front row next year. Duffy, can be brilliant, but he was nowhere near fit enough, and seemed to finish almost every game with an injury of somesort - all in all he probably only had a few decent games for us last year.

As PC has said, the big thing for the Widnes players next year is to be more efficient in everything that they do - he needs more from each player. No whinging about this, that and the other, just low maintenance players who want to play for the club and will just get on with things. We may not have the flash players like Gene, Penkywicz or Black, but what we do have is good mix of experienced ex-SL players and younger players who have had a good grounding at clubs like Wigan and Saints.

I can't see us finishing outside the top 3 and depending on how some of the younger players go, we might have enough to go all the way.

Well thats your opinion and your entitled to it, im quite happy to take a backward seat this year and let everyone else talk themselves up. Normally all the pressure is on Widnes. We are building to Super League 2012.

Added to all above comments i'll take immense pride in seeing numerous local lads take the field in there home town jersey's!

Also am not going to resort t acting like Morrison wasn't as immensly important to us last year as he truly was! But in Haggerty we have a guy who has played consistantly well in Super League for the past few years so i'll happily take that!

Alot as said may rest on how the youngsters step up but if they do... we'll certainly take some stoping and with a young / local side to boot you can just send the 2012 spot our way!

Our squad last year was poorly put together. We had one recognised (established) prop forward in the whole squad, this year we have got 4, We've got two very good wingers in Gaskell and Flynn, I'm not sure about Gardner as I havent see anything of him to make a judgement. TKL on his day is a classy centre in this league, look at his try in NRC final. We have two excellent half backs in Thackeray and Webster, I think this year we will see a totally different James Webster than we did for long periods of last season as for the majority he was playing behind a beaten pack. We've also got some good youngsters coming though in the likes of Grady and Mullaly. I think we will do ok this season, I am not making any predictions but I reckon we will there or thereabouts at the business end.

I believe the 'General', Lee Patterson, has gone to play in France for the time being.

Fair enough, it's all about how you guys see it, I was just simply saying that I think your weaker that last season, but like you said we'll have to wait till everything kicks off.
