| It matters not a jot what anyone thinks they can or cannot prove. The RFL will give a licence to who they want. Remember, there is a club in super league who arent the club that gained the original licence..........
There is a club in the championship who dont need to meet any criteria, just apply!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That should concern us more than fax and batley fans turning out in admirable numbers to celebrate successful seasons. Lets cut them some slack eh?
We are all being lied to and cheated, sadly by the very people that run the sport. Our board has made some howlers this year, granted, and no fax fan is under the illusion we will EVER get into super league, but if this is done, as the VIKINGS fans suggest, to put one up the RFL, then the board deserve a bit of admiration for challenging the system.
I hope the vikings get their deserved licence, that will restore some credibility to our sport, but, they may not and they may have to stay in the championship, with the RFL who knows? Then all clubs will need some solidarity, i guess is what i'm trying to say
One day we may all be thanking the fax board.....................
Sorry for banging on and i really dont mean to offend anyone, just feel we need to stick together to protect our great game, great clubs and great community. All this crap, created by the top men is slowly eroding all this and leaving a bad taste and it worries me

Maybe this got brought up when the club met with the RFL.
Meeting? Can you narrow it down a bit, I'd imagine you've had a few this year.

| What would be a fair result and one that would give more hope to Champ clubs is that if more than one team went up( and not the Frenchies either) that's just about the only way that Fat Boy et al could gain any credibility from all this.
Bring back P&R, though at Thrum Hall it was up and down like a whores draws for many years, along with Barrow. Widnes have worked hard these last few years and concentrated on the bid at the expense of topping the table, I'm sure this is a frustration to some supporters but hopefully the youth policy will work and mean less Aussie Retirement Plans in the future.

No Vikings fan has suggested this. This is what the Halifax fans are saying to justify announcing an attendance that was over and above the actual number of people who attended. Paying or not.
As for sticking together. Halifax have not done that. Maybe that could be argued if Fev, Leigh and Batley all announced attendances that put them over the minimum attendance figure but they haven't.
I'm not sure [ianyone[/i will thank the Fax board. As I said in the post above, The RFL can now dismiss any complaints that the game is stagnating in the championship because Halifax have discredited this argument. Halifax have given the RFL an excuse to continue with franchising and to re-introduce the minimum attendance criteria next time around. Rather than sticking two fingers up they are dancing to the RFL's tune.
I genuinely don't have a problem with Halifax or their fans. I can only say again that I would rather a fairer system like P&R were back in place. I would be more happy now to see Barrow in the top flight and Salford or Celtic wallowing down here with us. At the same time I would be delighted to be watching the climax of this season with Leigh, Fax and Fev (realistically) battling it out for a chance to be promoted. The reason I would be happy for all this is that you would know that come February next year everyone would be playing for the same opportunity all over again.

Quite simply because your fellow fans are making the same arguments over and over and choosing to ignore what are fairly salient points. I have yet to see one of your fans defend the position that Fax have put the RFL in a corner or that they indeed deserve the title of champions of lower league RL for what they have done.
As for the Alzheimer's comment. This is a fairly sensitive area for me so I would appreciate you not using it again when responding to one of my posts. Certainly if you are going to use such a smilie icon next to it.

| Not sure how in any sense people would thank Fax board for this?
As Chris said would only play into RFL hands and make it harder for other sides next year and so on!
If only Widnes met 2,500 then next year clubs could argue it should be lowered... Not now!

I am not sure you are right there, I dont think the RFL would reduce it based oon the fact that only Widnes achieved it, because once Cas or Wakey are back into our league they will achieve more than the 2500 needed and would be the front runners for a licence the next time around.
I get really frustrated reading other teams message boards (yeh I know I should not bother) and some posters tarring everyone with the same brush. (quote "Thats why I hate halifax fans"icon_wink.gif
I was at the game on Sunday and there was definately more fans there than previous games, who knows exactly how many were there, not me not any Widnes fan, all we can do is "read it in the papers".
But what has the attendance figure done for Halifax. All it has done is given us the right to make an application next year. Nobody here is deluded enough to think that we will be granted a licence and we are certainly no threat whatsoever to your licence application (I think you need to look a lot further south for that one), but we need to make the application for both the continued experience of making the applications and to let the RFL know that we are serious about being back there at some stage in the future.
I for one think Widnes was done an injustice at the last round of applications and believe firmly that you will be successful in your application the next time around, and quite rightly so.
Good luck next year.

| I don't think Wakefield would average 2k at Belle Vue in the Championship.

Belle Vue ???
Of course they would. Look at what happened to Hull FC and Warrington when they moved into new stadiums

If the crowd figure was indeed embellished, maybe it was Fax who were backed into the corner, so there is more than 1 application. And from what I have been told there's more than a maybe about it. It doesn't matter anyway, We the fans and I'm sure the and board at fax know that that if there is a successful application from the championship it anint going to be us!!

That's a very sensible and mature response, not.Chris makes a valid point, why don't you address it instead of posting silly, childish cartoons.Halifax have indeed raised the bar for themselves and others during their next 4 years in the second division. How can they complain now about a lack of interest in the lower leagues due to licensing, when they can attract a gate some 3 times greater than many of their SL attendances 2003.The club may say it was just a one off but the RFL may say, well done, more of the same please.
