Why did the club not FIGHT to keep him

Forgive me if i have missed something, but wasn't it only reported last week that he had re-signed???

Read the other thread, it answers my question, thought either it was strange or i was going mad!!!

It's sad but true but, with this current coaching set up and very average players we will only get worse this season. SOC is in cloud cuckoo land if he thinks we will get 7000 VSH members. The only way this will happen is if he sacks these clowns now, gets a decent coach in and a big name Half Back & Forward in who will help turn these dire performances around. At this rate, and with the current economic climate, he will be lucky if there are 2000 VSH members next season!!!

I think I am beyond caring anymore just not worth it!

I don't think anyone is under the illusion that we will come anywhere close to 7,000 this season. We will be lucky to end the year with as many as we started with. We really need to work on getting people through the door as walk ups and converting them.

Denis getting a bit of praise for what is being said in here which is fair enough. No problems with the clubs stance. Just wish the team was a bit more organised on the pitch on a matchday.

so this Jarred Hickeys that good that no other super league clubs picked him up or offers to go back to Aus? hopefully try him till end of season an see how he goes!

Watts was sacked by Widnes After been arreseted for the possession of class A Drugs in the early hours of Saturday morning.

It was no great secret to many round town what he was upto and i'm 100% certain it isn't just him but i'm also not naive enough to think that this only happens at Widnes. Rugby League is riddled with recreational drugs!

It was personal reasons. If you had done the same as he did, would you not want to get out quick?

What would be the point of coming out and saying what really happened, it would raise questions about the clubs and Watts wouldn't be able to get another club after messing it up at a second club. All it would do is please some people who have nothing other than what Widnes players get up to care about in their lives.

This is going to happen at a club like Widnes (first season back in SL).
As they are only in their first year, they are going to find it hard to get good players to join. The options are, get average/bad players, or take a gamble on good players who are a bit of a handful in the discipline department.
Unfortunately Watts and Moore didn't work out for Widnes, but they ARE good players.
I believe it's just one of those gambles you have to take in your first season back.
