| I totaly agree for 80mins we played one out rugby you would have thought after half an hour one of the coaches would have realised this wasnt working and changed the game plan? but who would we get in what coach would want to come to Widnes? Also Betts and co are telling players they havent done enough to earn contracts what have they done to earn or deserve theres?

On thread drift:
[quote="tb":24qn1m99]Tough. Conversations develop. It's their nature.[/quote:24qn1m99]
Little Pepe went to nursery school one day wearing his Widnes hat. His teacher asked him why he was a Widnes fan. He said, “Because my parents are.” His teacher said, “That’s not good. What would you do if your parents were drug dealers and hookers?” He replied, “Well then I would be a Warrington fan.”
[i:24qn1m99]There's a Wooly over there, baggy kecks and feathered hair
with a 3 star jumper half way up his back, that’s a fecking Wooly back![/i:24qn1m99]
[b:24qn1m99]Oooh-to… Oooh-to-be… Oooh-to-be-a… WOOLY![/b:24qn1m99]:24307.jpg |

That will not happen.
It was yet another inept performance. The defence is completely unorganised, with some moving up quickly and others not, creating gaps everywhere for the opposition to exploit. There was nothing from the half-backs and hooker and no second phase of attack - or any sort of support play really.
I'm getting a little tired of the excuses for all this now. This has little to do with players staying or going, there was plenty of effort from all the players today, just a complete lack of coordination in both defence and attack - THAT'S JUST BAD COACHING!
Despite all the stick he's been getting lately, I thought Dave Allen was our best player and, if a few other players had been on his wavelength, we might have scored a few more trys at least.

| I am not often given to massive overraction when it comes to my teams performances but im sorry to say that was absolute gash, no pride, no passion, no organisation, no direction whatsoever. completely pathetic. It has been this way to varying degrees every game of this season. absolute gash in everyway. I dont know what it is, whether its the inevitable effect of the franchise announcement and the uncertainty that creates in the minds of players i do not know, but these guys are human, its foolish to think that their hearts are in it anymore (in many cases). is it down to this or is it just recruitment and coaching? Regardless that does not excuse the complete lack of passion, organisation etc i mentioned. Something is very wrong indeed.

| Back to basics for Widnes. You can't do any worse than going back to plucking out a "home-grown" by bringing in Matt Calland. He's the real deal. He'll put trophies in yer cabinet.

| Were stuck with Mr Betts im affraid, hes already signed the bulk of super league squad so to bring someone else in now would be foolish, we just gotta hope he knows what hes doing!
I think all the uncertainty over whos going and staying has caused an unhappy dressing room and hopefully thats all it is.
Im pretty sure thats the 1st time in history the man of the match has been boo'd! lol
Roll on next season as soon as possible please, might as well not bother going to Sheffield, just give them a bye and be done with it

| Im with Pepe on this one, Betts isnt the right choice but what can we do? a Karl Harrison or Darryl Powell is exactly what we need but sadly that wont happen. Im staggered that over 5,000 turned up today!
I will say that Betts is likely to be gone within the next 12 months.

Pretty much. I don't think there's anything he could have done at the end of this season that would have got him the sack. Which is not really what you want for a coach, to have that level of job security.

This is the shining diamond in what must look like a massive bucket of sloppy turd at the moment. Very prominsing sign that your SL campaign next year is going to be well supported. They can't take that away from you. Widnes and Castleford can hold their heads high as both had strong attendance showings whilst playing in the bum-hole end of Rugby League.

| Don't understand why he was awarded a SL deal so prematurely before even proving himself in the championship.I suppose the logic was so he could build his own squad and prepare with plenty of time but would we really be in a worse position now if we still hadn't decided on the coach for next year?Cas only appointed Millward recently and HKR are still undecided.

| Pepe may be right , im sure Dennis will be the first one to admit it isnt alwayseasy to get the recipe right , you must however continue to turn up and show thisneeds to be put right before the rot sets in ,however im sure Mr Connor will no doubt have his own ideas on the subject which will mean all you at the Stobarts mustbeready to show solidarity .

You've just gotta wipe the past six years from memory. The future is about to unfold. I know it's horrible watching your team being put through the mangle - we've all been there and whilst we all take the pizz and have a bit of banter i know what it's like to be a frustrated fan. Something better is around the corner and your bus driver is Steve O'Connor - looks like a pretty good journey to be embarking on.
All aboooooooard .....................tickets please
