Very good first half and then to many changes to be consistent enough in the second half, impressive considering all the youngsters we had out. Jim Gannon and Lee Doran both worked themselves into the ground. Ford looked to have done his hamstring again icon_sad.gif and Lee got knocked unconscious at the end so wil most probably miss next week.

Decent crowd of over 3,000 too considering Haven only brough about 7 people.

First half we got off to a superb start with some well worked tries but when the game was out of sight we let it drop. You can't really blame them for that, we've an injury ravaged squad, and people are tired. Doran though, how many penalties did he give away? He has to work on that, if he can't sort it, we need to replace him, it's one of the worst attributes a player can have. But look on the brightside. 10 players out and an easy win, let's hope for more of the same against Toulouse.

tbf i thought Doran was very good today, Ben Davies is going to be a superstar for Wigan. His work rate and footwork are both excellent and i just hope we can keep him for the season.

Agreed about Davies. The lad was immense all game, started to look tired right at the end but stayed with us. We've had some great players pass through this team over the years, Davies just has something about him.

The crowds reaction to Hulme was brilliant. We've only had five minutes of him so it's too early to judge but it's just great to see him out there. I just hope they don;t start to get on his back quickly a la Stephen Myler. Currently on the fringes of international duty at rugby union and a star at Northampton, all he got here was stick from certain quarters who always knew better. It wasn't like he was in a great team at the time. Hulmey needs his chance and not to be judged by the name on his back.

Hulme did ok, and took his try well.Doran did well except for some silly penalties.Cuts them out he is a good player. We did well today considering who is missing, and hope we can keep davies for the season. If can get someone like jordan james,we will be near the top of the league. icon_wink.gif Farrell played well for wigan today.I am gutted now as i think he is quality. icon_sad.gif

Must say, the crowd was better than feared. 10 out, haven bringing less fans than I did. Can't really blame them at the moment.

Never in my life have I seen a poorer Whitehaven side. If we'd had a full squad we could have hit 80. They're usually an upper tier side for this division, a pain to take on away, but this latest outfit are terrible and this must be a bad time to be a haven fan. Leroy Joe though, you can't fault the man's commitment and experience, and they looked better once they tightened up.

Haven where the pits today. Very worrying for them. They usually come down here and niggle, slow the play the ball down and compete in the forwards.

They struggled to even compete in the forwards with a very big pack against our patched up pack which isnt going to steamroller anyone.

As already said Davies had a stormer today but I actually thought Lee Doran was our MOM today. He was everywhere and I only actually counted one penalty conceded by him today.

The substitutions and then rotating players to piece a pack together didnt help the second half but at the moment I think we could put most of those players anywhere on the pitch and they would give us as good an account of themselves as they could.

I'd go along with most if not all of this.

Not sure if we took our foot off the gas or whether the substitutions made us disjointed, but we could/should have run up a big score. IMO the only negatives would be the injuries (again) and Yates, who yet again had his decent moments but couple of big blunders. Not doing himself any favours at the moment and needs a couple of error free games to get the confidence back. Mind you people have blamed lack of confidence for 3 seasons now and there must become a point where the confidence card is overplayed and if he makes mistakes the only reason can be that he's not good enough. They do say form is temporary and class is permanent - are Yates mistakes down to talent or form? Its a shame really because I don't remember Yates making many errors in the academy and IMO if plays against Toulouse and Lezignan and has good games then people will get behind him. At the moment though, I can't see him playing much once Ford is fit again.

There was more than 7. The majority went in the South stand as we attempt to avoid the North stand after recent visits. The ones who went in the South stand also got mixed up as some got tickets for South East and others had tickets to sit in the players families area. I would say there was maybe about 40 in total. There was 28 on the mini bus.

We should've been beat by a lot more. Each game we've had this season I've come away thinking we got lucky with the scoreline. At Leigh I thought they were very average and put over 40 on us. I thought Featherstone took pity on us with 20 minutes to go and Widnes maybe did the same although in some ways I thought you dropped to our level. It could easily have been 80+ your side is far superior to our side, bigger, fitter and it was easy or embarrasing depending on which way it's looked at. Our players never learn and the sin binning we got yesterday had been coming for 10 minutes.

Can see us having someone suspended as well as it looked like an elbow to the chin of the Widnes player (was it Doran) who went off late in the 2nd half.
