| Lets hope the rumours are true today.
Been real disappointed since Friday, we should be ripping up this division not getting beat by Oldham (no disrespect)

Bl00dy hell - calm down.
It's the first game of the season for gawds sake, and Oldham are no slouches.
And hands off Kelly

In case you haven't noticed Ste Mac is in his 4th year at Widnes. That'll be about 3 years longer than he merited.

| If true I am gutted. Steve Mack has been a tremendous person for Widnes and throughout his time at the club he has been a great ambassador for Widnes. 3 finals in 3 years isn't bad and chuck in 4 different boards and chairman along with an administration he has gone about his role fantastically well. Hopefully he'll be back in the game soon. Well done Steve and good luck for the future

| Tony Benson!?
Not a chance. Why because Oldham played ok against us? They still conceded 4 tries against us thought didn't they.
Neil Kelly would be a step backwards and I doubt he'd leave Leigh, there's no reason for him to.
Ellery Hanley would be my first choice and hope that Stanky would remain assitannt, but James Webster is getting mentioned to me as being involved in some way.
Stanky and Webbo to be the youngest coaches in pro-RL?

| Nice guy is Steve but he has failed for us on one 2 many occasions, the crowds are also dropping away, we need a big name in.

Cue Hanley. Whilst I can see the sentimental link to Neil Kelly, he is under contract at Leigh and I think with Steve McCormack it is a case of when going back second time around, once bitten, twice shy.
You won't get a bigger name than Hanley though. I read an ad on the tube before christmas, it read "Big Projects need Big Names" and this certainly is the case with me!
Black Pearl. Get him!

Id agree Re. Ned, well in fact about Hanley too.
Never a worse thing than trying to recreate something a second time over. There is still some aura around him which is surprising given that he lost it equally as much as every other coach we've had by the time his end had come.
Other than Ellery, Dave Woods is out of a job although I dont know any of the circs with that one. What others are knocking around without work?
Also a chance for Stanky to come into the limelight and try to impress enough for the full time role.

Given that he's got his mate Thorman over at Hull now would he leave his capacity there ? Whatever his job role/title is.
Il be honest and say I wouldnt shirk at either Hanley or Cullen. I certainly wouldnt mind giving Stanky time to bed in either maybe with an older head as his assistant.

That's probably what the club will do. However, whether he stays in position will depend on who else applies for the job and how his results go. Good luck to Stanky though.
As far as Jon Sharp goes, if he is happy at Hull as a football operations manager, then he lacks the desire to coach again. If that is the case then I wouldn't want him anyway. If he still has drive and ambition he is definitely the man for us. His teams are well organised in the same way John Kear and Brian McDermott's teams are. That's what is required in this league more than anything. John Dixon proved how effective a well drilled side can be in this league. The ability to make the best of what you have is essential imo. That's why I wouldn't go for someone like Hanley or Millward. Both are good in charge of flair players, but I wouldn't regard either as great tacticians.
