| 34 - 0 widnes cruising but we have missed around 6 kicks at goal. Good ball movement all be it against poor opposition. Oh and feck me it's cold!

| Poor second half, hope fordy is okay after he limped off and Gardner too a knock to the nose and went off. Still missing Toa/Haggerty/Flynn/Varkulis/Gaskell/Thompson
Pickersgill for MOM for me, ran his blood to water and put in some big hits, Ford also looked good scoring 4.

| Ford MOM for me... If he can continue that form into the league season we'll be reet...
Moment of the match - Picks grubber and try !
Also good to see Webbo at the heart of all that was good in our attacking play..

Agree with that - bit disappointed about the 2nd half, but we don't know how much of that is down to the fact we have another game at the end of week. Goal kicking was shocking - think we missed 8 by the end. Overall a decent workout and hopefully we can carry the good points over to Sunday. Think I'd give Ford the MOM.

| Scoring so many right in the corner made life difficult for the kicker. A few that were missed were shockers though.

| Scott Yates got about 1 from 5 and the 1 was from bang in front. Shane Grady then got the job and he got about 2 from the other 6.
I've seen Scott Yates kick very well in the u18's and I'm not sure why he handed the responsibility over to Grady. Grady doesn't look to be a bad kicker but if Yates is a proper goal kicker then surely he should have just persevered.
IMO whoever is given the job, we should just stick with that same kicker and no matter how many they miss early in the game or even if the bad run continues from one game to the next, they should keep the job. Whilst we are swapping kickers, I doubt its going to either player any good maybe not kicking from one to the next, but then all of a sudden being asked to kick a couple. Personally I'd give Yates the job, but then again, Grady probably has more chance of keeping his place in the team - Christ knows what will happen if neither player is on the pitch.

When the squad is fully fit i would not have grady or yates on the pitch. It is imperative we buy a dual code goalkicker or a signing.I did not go the game, but i am so glad webster took the line on and caused some havoc.Hopefully thackray and webster will gel as the league games begin. How long is haggerty and tkl out for?I know about the others.

| I'd agree with that summary...
Christ it was cold!!!! My knees wouldn't bend by the end and my bladder was frozen..
Ford was the one player that stood out last night.. took his tries well, joined the line to real good effect and made a good one on one tackle to save a try. He looks classy and I'm sure that he'll go well in this league.
Allen looked classy too and I'm delighted to have him back..
Webster looked very busy and showed some guile and Thacks still looks like a dangerous player although I felt he stepped off the gas last night once the game was won.
Picks and Kav played well and the neat footwork from Pickergil was possibly the highlight of the night.
Gardner looked fairly lively and I was pleasantly surprised that he made a number of good runs and took his try well. Despite reports to the contrary he ran forward with quite a bit of pace and power.
The lack of a kicker really concerns me however. Games will be lost if we do not have anyone that can competently kick. I've seen Yates kick well when in the u18s but he looked well off last night. Let's hope that one of the dual registered players that is set to come in can slot them over the sticks too.
Good run out against poor opposition. Much sterner task against Batley this weekend and I see Ford is set to play.
Good to just get going..

| Thats right, when Vark, Toa, Flynn and Gaskell are all back Grady and Yates won't get a look in, we need someone else to kick the goals, I'm sure after last night they'll be working on that all week.

I think Shane has done enough now to force himself into the 17 each week. Really, really pleased with how he is coming along.
As for kickers well we've seen them both kick better before. Yacca lost it last night. For those in the south stand after one of the first couple of kicks he was signalling over to Grady to change but they didnt until later on.
Very much a confidence player in everything he does is Yacca and as I say weve seen him bang 11 from 12 over against Toulouse.
All in all it was another friendly run out really.

| Grady is worth a bench spot for how versatile he is.

| Shane Grady will never let us down, particularly with his defence. I'd like to see him get more opportunities this year. He's certainly earned his chance.
