| Widnes 20 st Helens 52
Better second half but it was painful watching in the first, we still have a fair few to come back though who haven't even played yet.
Allen
Finnigan
Haggerty
Ianson
Frodsham
No gaskell, Kelly or houghton today either.
Coyle is crap and should be replaced by gore.

And going off the previous couple of games we missed Mullally. Not sure why Leuluai got MOM, Paddy Flynn should have got it.

You think? I think we should adopt a careful approach with Gore. He'll do fine at Skolars though, if picked. But on the whole, we shouldn't throw him in the deep end too often, too soon.
Think a bit of him and Chris Gerrard taking turns at half-back could be a way to go, until I'Anson is fit.
Sadly I agree on Coyle. He's not good enough at half-back and isn't a hooker either.

I agree and can not believe some on the widnes site said he played well.Gore looks the part and a good kick and a few side steps.Pickers will be really good if gets match fit as offloads well.Grady i thought did well in the secondrow, and lunt must be pushing for the first choice hooker.

We had a full team out bar Wello, Eastmond, Perry and Lomax, who are all still recovering from injury. We swapped in the second half though, putting out a few of our 'second string' players who actually have all played at first grade thanks to megga injury problems over the last two seasons.
I was impressed by your right side (left as us Saints fans saw them in the second half). There were some really nippy players on that wing who caused us problems. Are they regular players for you guys or newbies? I'm sure you'll appreciate that my attention was primarily upon my own team given we have some new faces in it, a new coach and some old faces missing. But I couldn't help notice that side as they kept threatening our line in front of me!
I enjoyed the match but it was bloody freezing in the East Stand! I think that's where I'm going to be spending my season, unless that is the away end. I am confused. I think I circumnavigated the whole stadium to get there. There are going to be a lot of lost Saints fans wandering around Widnes over the coming weeks I think!

To Saints fan, I also noticed that we had far more success when we attacked down that side. On our right was Flynn on the wing who made a couple of good breaks and from memory, the centres were a mixture of Ropati and Ste Tyrer. Anthony Thackeray also scored from a break on our right.

Well, for your sake I hope your coach keeps that combination as it was effective. There were pacey players there who could sidestep and throw a good dummy.

| Paddy Flynn was very good today and I thought Thackery had a good spell after Saints hit the 40 point mark.
Flynn was Widnes MOM for me, good run out for both sides with a few players due back for both.
Just hope we get Widnes at home in the cup now!

| Would have thought the crowd would have been a bit bigger than that seeing as you are definitely going into SL.
