What kind of crowds do you expect in 2012? What kind of average are you hoping for?

I noticed some healthy crowds last time you were in super league, some of them over 9k... will this increase?
Do you expect 10k+ against the likes of Warrington, Saints and Wigan?

What will you get against the lesser teams?

How many season ticket holders are you expecting?

Which team would you like for your first home game back in super league? As a Wigan fan I would love to come to Widnes for the first game!

If Widnes are going to spend to the cap and be sustainable then they need a lot of income from the crowds, clearly an area they are stronger in than Crusaders, Fax and even some teams already in super league...

We never hit over 10K oncen against Wire or st Helens. Sometimes getting in the 8000 region and thats when the stand was packed out. 7,000 against both hull clubs i think. They do bring a good following, especially KR but they will probably about half fill the stand.

What happened last time we were in SL should be a little different this time.

The difference is due to Steve O'Connor and the setup at the club, Viking Stronghold and probably a more competitive squad.

I think we shall be close to 10k against Saints and Wigan, if not over that and around 7 to 8 thousand against Wakefield, Castleford, Catalans & Salford. How many we get against Warrington I could not guess.

Sorry but i cant see 7-8 thousand against wakefield, more like 5-6 thousand. Youve got to remember we averaged about6-7 thousand when we were in SL last time and thats only because of 9800 crowds against wire and saints. Nothing has chaged last time. We do have SOC in charge and the club is running better than it ever has but crowd wise i think youll find there wont be a huge jump. Weve sold just short of 4,000 memberships for next year, i think it will be a good achievement making it to 5000. I reckon a couple of hundred will pay on the gate and Wakefield will bring a few hundred if that?

Id like to be optimistic but i just cant see it. I do think we will brake the 10K barrier at least once though against Wire.

Just on this crowd thing. I think we would be foolish to underestimate the work that the club will be doing to increase crowd numbers.

The last time in SL the main beef on the TIW site (or Widnes Vikings MB as it was back then) was that the advertising of the games was poor. We had a bit of a spot in the local papers and that was it. One year someone came up with the innovative idea of putting the fixtures on the back of beer mats and giving these to all local pubs (and that season did see an increase if memory serves me right not sure if it was coincidental) but other than that it was fairly poor with the exception of one or two free for kids games.

The very first meeting SOC had with us fans he went to great length to tell us that they were looking at increasing crowd numbers and would be looking to tap into South Merseyside (speke, hale etc) and Cheshire as a way of drumming up the numbers.
They had already done a little work on the demographic of fans and had found a surprising number of supporters attending from outside the town. He said that the club would be taking a good luck at marketing the club and were in conversation with
Warrington about how they had so successfully sold the brand to people in the town.
Then after all of that he said that they would only look to do this once the club was back in SL as that was the product that they would be able to sell more easily. Who knows what is planned? Adverts on the side of busses? Full page adverts in the papers?

The biggest mistake you make with a man like SOC is to underestimate them.

I reckon we will average around 7-8k but against teams like wigan, warrington, st helens, Leeds we will probably get 10k plus.

Hope its not the first game you will end up putting 30-40 points on us.

I've heard that our first game (other at than Millennium Magic) will be away to Saints, at their new stadium.

I've got a great idea for exposure. We start advertising immediately before Coronation Street, and sponsor the Oscars.
