| I think its fairly obvious he'll now be going Salford, devastating on his day but his lack of discipline and ball control at times lets him down. He's had a couple of cracking games for us but the rest mediocre, with the emergence of Adam Lawton and with Danny Tickle on board for 2014 im not that gutted about him going. He does attract defenders though which can be good when looking to bring other players into attack. That side of his game will be missed.

Maybe Lawton could do the same job as Hock but is much younger and more disciplined.Needs abit more aggression though to his game.I am not too bothered Hock going as prefer Tickle and can kick goals too.

| I was going to come and start a new thread on here, but this seems like a good place to ask -
How has Hock gone for you this season? We all know he's a player of extremes, but has he been rolling more 6s or 1s for you?

He's hit and miss and a head the ball but a player I'd love to keep. When he's on form he's awesome mate.
Scored four tries today
Just need to use him more, he hasn't got the quality of players around him to read certain moves

You mean the ones stood there thinking "What's he doing?" when he's tieing up 3 defenders and looking for some sort of support run on the inside to offload to?
You'll be better off with Tickle ..... might even cheer Brown up to have him around - he just doesn't look happy these days and it's killing his game.

| I've just returned to Cas Vegas from the game today so only seen Hock play a couple of times this season. Although he did get 4 tries today which is outstanding for a forward, I did find him very lazy and he didn't do the hard work that others did. Winterstein did all the donkey work in defence and running the ball out from his own sticks whilst Hock stayed out wide as opposed to making the hard yards.
You may argue that scoring 4 makes up for it but I like to see both. I'd take the hardworking and tryscoring Tickle all day and if you would have had him playing for you today, you would have won as he can put the ball between the sticks
Just an opinion from an unbiased individual.

Possibly one of the most ridiculous statements I have read. How you can compare tickle to hock I do not know. Yes he may have the odd brain fart but putting that aside any team in sl would welcome them into their starting 13

| as a fan that has seen both Hock and Tickle at their absolute best, Hock is 10x the player that Tickle is. On hs day, GH is possibly the BEST 2nd row forward in the world, never mind superleague. his biggest roblem is that he's a prat

| Danny Tickle at his best may not be as good as Hock at his best, but you'll get 100% from him week in, week out.
As a Hull fan, I'll miss Tickle playing for us.
You've got yourself a top player and a great goal kicker.
Good luck to him.

| Silly to compare Hock and Tickle IMO. They are both top players, but play completely different games. if you're looking for a devastating wide runner, then Hocks your man. If you're looking for a hard working grafter who will do the hard yards, then Hock most definitely is NOT your man. Tickle is. Solid pro and a great kicker. Be great to have both at Widnes next season and not completely ruled out the possibility ... yet.

Our only hope VtG would seem to be if Salford baulk at Wigan's asking price (who knows the deal might already be done!). Wigan will be doubly brassed off with Hock if he backs out of the Parramatta deal and they dont find anyone (acceptable to them) who will meet their asking price.
We could end up with a mini Suarez/Rooney/Bale scenario, where the clubs who would pay £150k Warrington/St Helens maybe are not clubs Wigan would want to sell to. We cant afford the cash I dont think (well not the fee and the contract), but we would be happy for another loan year. I would have thought that despite all their investment in players Salford would still be regarded as the level of club Wigan would sell to.
So we are way down the food chain, almost as though everything else has to fall through before we get the chance to loan him again! I suppose there is an outside chance that the new Board might feel able to make a bid, but £150k + contract is a lot to find when we need to strengthen the squad significantly.
Wigan on the other hand may have got to the stage where they just want it sorted and dont care any more if they sell to an immediate rival!
