| When Widnes get into SL, do you think there will be any
significant shift in fan bases.
Do you know any people in the Widnes area, that support the other 2 clubs, simply because they are in SL

| No, I don't think so.
There are a lot of St Helens fans in Widnes. A handful of Wires too, they won't change their allegiances that easy.
I think Widnes ought to worry that Saints will be playing here next year. There'll be top quality RL on Widnesians doorsteps at a similar price to the Championship and NRC. The casual RL supporter would much prefer to go to the former.

| I bet there's a fair few who may not go Widnes frequently but have been to watch Saints on a couple of occasions. I am no stranger to KR (don't worry Widnes season ticket always in hand). You'll get people who just won't go (for some reason) if not in SL, but they will come back to Widnes when we get there no worries.

I actually think this will be a posistive (as long as we make SL 2012) pro RL in Widnes needs a boost. Saints will bring that, the local pubs around the ground will be much busier and also every weekened not one in two, people will feel the buzz on a matchday. Remember in SL? The Albion, full people streaming down the streets in RL colours going in 30mins pre Kick off? Now most (me included) tend more to just stroll into ground / club just before KO with little buzz around it.
Saints will bring that back and maybe yes the casual supporter will go to see them, but then the year after (Saints should be gone) and anyway Widnes abck in the big time! People remember the buzz from Saints last year rather than Widnes 5/6 years back and they put their hand in their pockets to watch the mighty chemics rise again

| there are a few glory hunters around who will support saints. there's proper support in widnes. a proper rl town with a history
that goes beyond most (including wire unfortunately). i'm really looking forward to you getting back into sl. it's a disgrace
that you weren't there in the first place.

Maybe Widnes should use that as an oppertunity then. Offer 3 free saints games with a Widnes season ticket. They are playing at your stadium afterall.
So as well as attending all the Widnes home games you could also go to the saints games against Wire, Wigan and Leeds. Thats a fantastic offer and would get a few more buying season tickets.

| I know of at least one Widnes fan who started following Wigan when we were originally rejected for SL, who wants to start following us when we return to SL.
I really don't buy this notion that people living in Widnes will start following Saints, particularly when we get into SL just because Saints will be squatting in our stadium.

| Getting in to SL will bring out the woodworks fans, a much needed boost plus with the bigger teams and more away fans a better atmosphere, all this is common knowledge.
You might lose some fans who have Widnes as a 2nd team who go to games and want you to win but only because their own team isn't in the same league so it doesn't affect them to follow you, but all that said i don't think Widnes' crowd will raise because fans are turning from Saints/Wire just that more will come out to watch the bigger more exciting games.
You may also get the extra boost of Wire/Saints fans coming to watch you if their team is playing on a different day and they want an extra SL fix.
All in all no disadvantage to anyone really just positives. Now hurry up and get here we want our easy 4 or 6(magic week) points a season

WTF? Put the bottle down lad! Widnes do have a proud history, but so do Warrington. I'd like to think that being the only RL team to have maintained top flight status throughout their history is rather special.

Or highlights their lack of success over those years as a comparison to others

That wont happen as those 3 games will sell out

| I wouldn't bank on that though. A few Saints fans I know have said they won't be attending all games while they play at Widnes and as such haven't purchased season tix.
Granted these games are the most likely to sell out but it would still mean in the region of 9-10,000 Saints fans having to 'travel' for their home games.

| Before you get into SL you want to get someone to answer the phones on a matchday.
