| Sam Thompson was pretty decent vs Saints in pre season i thought
but we need someone with the same will power as Morrison
like Adel Felous last season, always took the ball up like it was a matter of life or death
Big samoan/tongan will do the trick

true, ostick has been looking quite good so far for us, but all of the props we have are too lightweight.it's ok having the young uns coming through playing alongside a bit of experince, but we only have gannon who couldn't break the skin on a rice pudding

He breaks as many tackles as Morrison. Don't understand why Gannon gets such a raw deal off some fans.

| i never said he wasn't a good player, he just isn't a blockbusting type of prop, he tends to run in pretty slowly and try the offload (which in his time here we have NEVER backed up) this isn't his fault it's just that we have never used him for the kind of game he plays. what most people are after is a foil for this type of player i.e. one who runs the ball in strongly and gets the opposition on the back foot

Mark Leafa hasnt been snapped up so far this year and i would get him signed along with a loaned prop from SL like Ryan Boyle www.castigers.com/cgi-bin/profiles.cgi?17.
More options should also be provided as Bannister should soon be returning.

Even going with the kids we are still short of 1 out and out prop, Ostick is going fantastic at the moment and then we have Gannon and Kavangh, Thomson has a slight knock i believe but should be back soon. I still think we have a little money left and it should be used on a prop like leafa.
We have also blooded plenty of youth thus far in Flynn, Ostick, Simm, Grady, Yates.

| We don't have an ugly, in your face, rip your head off type of prop - a Relf, Kurt, O'Connor, Morley, Webke type of player (style not ability obviously i don't expect a Webke type to be playin in NLC!! ) to compliment what we have already, to beat the likes of fax i think we'll need this...
But I'd forgotten about Bannister who if fit would have probably been 1st choice 2nd row and forced Doran up to the front... Whether or not that would have changed what is the general feeling that we are light up front I don't know??
But now we have started the season it's doubtful we'll get one and will prob have to settle for a loaner instead??
Anyway i'm much happier than last week after tonights game !
SAT NIGHT RUGBY FTW !!

The thing is mate, if we had one of them rip your head off props who gives away more penalties than any one in the team then id prefer not to have him. Even Fellous last year gave away alot of penalties, thats not to say however i wouldn;t have him back.
Whilst Morrison is injured, its time for Kavanger to step up like he did today.
We also have Ostick who for me so far this season has been our best player. Big hitter, got pace and will hit the defensive line at top speed. We also have Gannon, an experienced prop who makes the yeards, good hands and scored a hat trick today.
Before today, i was worried about our prop positions but i feel alot more comfortable after that performance.
