| Because Workington's Derwent Park is being refurbished and wont be ready to cater for games until the season starts at the beginning of February, the friendly match at Widnes between the two clubs on Sunday, 13th January 2013, has been classed as a Workington home game and the gate receipts after expenses will go to them. Admission fees are £10; concessions £8 and Children £5.
An excellent gesture by the Widnes club. Well done.

| As a town fan I think its a magnificent gesture by widnes, and greatly appreciated by us up here. Most fans of championship team involved in these link ups are wary, and perhaps with good reason. But so far I have been happy with all that widnes have done, hope it continues.

| Thanks for the welcome OFF THE CUFF and like dkw has said Championship clubs are wary of what is happening but if some good comes for both parties then so be it.
Mind I think I should warn you that if Town "borrow" some of your good young players they might not want to come back to the Vikings, we have that sort of attraction. Players like Jamie Thackray, Ewan Dowes, Mark Calderwood and Peter Lupton all say the same that there is a tremendous team spirit and a great set of lads at Town. Last year we had Andy Morris and Adam Walne from Salford on loan and they have both signed for Town this season. Likewise if Dave Petersen from HKR hadn't took up the challenge to try his hand with Mackay Cutters, I'm sure he would also have been a Town player this season. Jamie Acton is another ex-Wigan Academy who has signed for Town after playing against us last season. He says he likes the way Town play.
So, you have been warned. lol.

| Geekay a few good points about moving permanent to Workington. It will depend how good they are and there ambition in the game, or to go part time for a job?Someone like Tom Gilmore has great ability and only 18, who maybe another Richard Myler and could earn decent money in the game.If want part time it will also depend where there job is and family too.The players you mentioned are not 18 to 21 years of age mate, but i see your point.Hope benefits both clubs, and maybe if we have a good link up with Workington, it could be my 2nd Club to support.

| The first four I named are the experienced players but Morris, Walne, Acton are all 20 year olds along with some other young locals like Callum Phillips, his big brother Brett.

As I said depends on players situation and careers.I know young Adam Lawton who is a Widnes lad and loves it at Widnes and his ambition is to lead his Town out as Captain.Dave Allen is another who loves playing for his Town too.If they are good enough for Widnes I can't see them going Workington, with due respect mate. You can have Leuluai permanent please.

Hmmm, do you think Craven will be first choice kicker then? This is purely for fantasy purposes, I've got Hanbury at the moment

All comes down to injuries. Put hanbury in your team, will score plenty of tries and get you MOM points.
