| Quote J20="J20"Cas admitted having to sell players to stave off administration and won't s fecking award for it?
If you're really annoyed about this after the season you've just had you need to start enjoying your rugby more!'"
Again, someone talking about last year, not this one.
I didn't say that I'm annoyed about it. I will repeat that in my opinion the award is not deserved by the Widnes club more than any other club for this year, for reasons I have stated earlier in the thread.

| Quote PopTart="PopTart"Well I go to every Wakefield game, and I don't often see trouble, but if you do, I guess we've found the common denominator.
Stay at home next time. Both sides will have a better experience.'"
Erm nobody has attacked me personally, but I have seen a few things that I would class as beyond banter if you like.
And Quote PopTart="Sarge"Quote PopTart="J20"Cas admitted having to sell players to stave off administration and won't s fecking award for it?

And Sarge, if we want to be pedantic, then from a Widnes/Cas POV, then the events of the Semi Final were last year (if by year you mean season)
I dont want to get embroiled in a daft tiff. As both clubs have done really well, and we should celebrate that with equal measure. As it has been a huge stride in the right direction, Cas probably should have the award IMO, but it is hardly as if the Tigers went without recognition. Be interesting to see how both respective clubs turn out next season. Throw Salford in that mix too

| Think everyone has said they thought Cas would win it but jeez talk about wanting to be indulged! You've got the deserves your season has merited on the field.
As for off field I wouldn't have a clue and that is te basis of an award that let's face it is a token gesture really.
The past years obviously come in to it as it's about improvement and showing something as a CLUB. Don't be surprised that the club labelled the "success of the licensing system" has won this award in licensing's final year... It gives the RFL a pat on the back too!

| Can not for the life of me understand how Castleford did not receive this award. Had the chance to finish top of the pile had they won their last fixture and finishing 4th was a fantastic achievement. This coupled with a cup final appearance surely should have made them nailed on!!???
Do not understand what criteria the RFL can possibly follow to not give it to Cas....

Do you know what the criteria is for the 'club of the year' award?

| I can not understand people having a go at the Widnes fans, as not our fault. I thought Castleford would have won it, but do we all know the full criteria. Widnes have only been in Superleague 3 yrs and Castleford have been in for years to build. Castleford finances we do not know, and if did not go Wembley, it be interesting their postion on players for next year. They have already lost some quality players for 2015.

| My biggest gripe with with winning this award if the lack of home grown players Widnes produce.
Off the top of my head Widnes only have two players that have come thru the Widnes system and I'm told the only other Widnes lads playing super league is mark Percival and Richie Myler.
Why are Widnes club and the town on a whole not producing any rugby league players ?

All the below have come through the Academy system and are members of the first team squad, we have also only been back in Super League the last 3 years. Its getting better but will need time, Saints and Wigan have had prolonged periods at the top of the sport and extra funding to put into youth systems as have the other Super League clubs.

I mean players that are actually playing in super league.
Why ain't Widnes signing the best young Widnes lads available at this time? They seem to be joining other clubs.
I watch a lot of amateur rugby and know saints, Wigan and Warrington scouts who are out every Sunday watching the u13s/14s/15s and 16s but where are Widnes scouts? Do they have scouts?

Of course we have scouts, we look both local and wider, a lot signed recently www.widnesvikings.co.uk/news/art ... sters-onto
More local lads will filter into the team the longer we continue in Super League, your post comes across as a little ignorant to the difficulties the club has been through the last 10 years. Another reason why other 'Widnes' lads might choose to sign for another local club is money, we don't have the funding available like the clubs you mentioned.
