MET SOME Cas fans on holiday in May and they were very dismissive of Widnes at that time. I really hope they and their team continue to underestimate us because IMO, we are well capable of springing a shock. Underdogs will suit us just fine.

Dont tar us all with the same brush. Most Cas fans are well aware that this will be a tough game that could go either way. I for one cannot wait.

I wouldn't criticise your speccies for being confident myself. As close as some have been, five from the last six games have gone to you.

Should be a belter for both sets of fans and hopefully catch the eye of the odd neutral watching the BBC.

Fair comment TS. FWIW, you will be favourites and rightly so but that might just suit us fine. Nothing to lose, get stuck in and should be a great game. Hope you win it if you beat us anyway.

We were the whipping boys like you last year. I don't believe anyone at CAS will take Widnes lightly, if they/we do we'll be out "simple". Widnes had one of the poorest games against Cas quite recently, at least in the 1st half so you can excuse people for getting carried away. We beat Wigan and got smashed week later. It's all on the day that counts and it's nice that Widnes and Cas have shook things up this year and whoever wins its a different team for a change in the final.

There have been spells in both Cas v Widnes games this season when you have been the better side but failed to maintain intensity at the level you showed against Wire. I'm sure that wont be the case in a CC semi so if Brown/Mellor/Hanbury hit top form Widnes can win it and well, no doubt.

Don't think daryll powell/danny orr will underestimate you at all.
Hel will have the boys feet firmly on the ground.

Getting very nervous for this now. I think Widnes' best chance is if they don't underestimate Cas. No doubt it's the draw both sides wanted - but Tigers are genuine title contenders this season in my book. Widnes need to adopt that siege mentality and recognise how big an underdog they are.

Hope we do ourselves proud even if we don't make it all the way there.
