Hicks is the worst but I thought he had a decent game on Sunday.

I listened to the game on radio Merseyside and good old Ray French wasn't as charitable towards Hicks as you are! This means of course that I have to go off his version of events rather than that of someone actually at the game.

At one stage a Bradford player drove in with the ball and knocked on. Hicks gave a penalty against us rather than a scrum to us and French exploded "Did you see that. The referee had his back to the play and when XXX(can't remember the name of the player) knocked on Hicks assumed that Widnes had stripped the ball and penalised them even though he didn't see the offense and neither of the TJs gave a call against Widnes. It was the worst decision I've see by a SL referee this season. A travesty. Look at XXX, he's laughing at Hicks."

Remember that quite clearly Poggie but have now forgotten who it was that knocked on! Lol. Maybe Blythe? Lost the ball straight from the dummy halfs pass dropped on it then we went to drop on him / picked the ball up and the next minute they had the penalty. Very poor that all 3 officials missed it.

Agree they overall have probably been a bit better this year but my word yes last season many were awful in numerous games. Maybe just giving less in general this season?

Oh, I also had a bet with myself as to how long it would take Hicks to penalise us. I thought 4 mins but in reality it was about 90 secs.

I'm not suggesting that the penalty wasn't justified but do think it strange that Hicks always finds something to penalise us for but rarely the opposition even though they are doing the same as we were when he penalised us
