From a neutrals point of view,a good competitive game,which could have gone either way but I suppose Wigan just about deserved to edge it.A number of good youngsters on show from both sides and a decent crowd to encourage O'Connor.Shame,I would have quite liked a narrow Widnes win.

A genuine question - Can anyone tell me why Childs didn't allow Advantage when Owens intercepted a Wigan forward pass on the 6th tackle near the Widnes line, with an open field ahead of him, instead of blowing for the forward pass and insisting on a Widnes PTB?

Because (unusually) the linesman was so quick off the mark to call the forward pass the ref blew immediately.
