Couldn't have been better timed. One brother lives in Salford, another came over from Ireland and was missing games, so we all made a special effort to get there. Brought along two nephews who never got to see our glory years. And it really was one of the most positive matches I've seen in a long time. When you consider how we looked at the start of the season and everything was doom and gloom and all of a sudden we've actually hit a bit of form out of nowhere, and the away following was huge and very vocal, and we spanked a team full of pace in their own back yard. We don't usually get to see fans leaving early because of us any more. I was walking out of the stadium with a smile on my face like the cheshire cat and I couldn't move it if I tried. And in town the next day it was full of widnes shirts.
Really was quite something. Best Widnes Performance since...I can't remember when.
