I can almost understand the Varkulis decision (although I don't agree with it), but releasing Hulme is a shocker for me. How many of our other players would have scored some of those tries or made those breaks - pretty much none of them. Unless there are other reasons (ie, his personal circumstances made FT rugby impossible) then I think Betts/Cullen have got this one badly wrong. I think fans deserve an explanation around why one of our most exciting players this year has been released.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was the case. I think there may be a lot more to this story than the club deciding he isn't good enough. I'd love to see what's happening inside the club at the moment because from the outside it's baffling.

So effectively the club believe that we have better players already or will bring in better players in Danny's position.

You just don't release the young player of the year, it's criminal

Just read on Twitter that he's signed for the Crusaders. Good move for both player and club.
