QuoteChrisViking="ChrisViking"I've had £17-£25 taxis from Liverpool to Widnes. Probably be a bit more costly coming from Widnes though due to different taxi companies.'"
As the others have said pretty much got 3 options:
I reckon it would be about £30 in a taxi.
Walking to the train station you'd probably have to leave by 9.40 to defo get there in time. The game is probably going to finish between 9.40-9.45 so you might have to leave just before the end. If you miss the train the wait is an hour to the next I think.
As J20 has said, if you get a cab from the ground to the station you'd make it easy, but its just a question of whether there is one - maybe best bet to walk to the Asda which is only 5 mins away and get a cab from there as there are usually a few cabs waiting outside.
If it was me (being a tight ), I'd just walk it to the station and be on the way walking by 9.40.
Other options are getting taxi's to either runcorn or rainhill train stations both of which are on different lines into liverpool than widnes, so would have different times which might be more convenient.
Make sure you one of the first out of the ground and you could walk to Widnes North by 10, it's 20 mins max. Probably take longer flagging a taxi when the ground is packed. Taxis to Liverpool cost around £25. Only more when its especially busy I find, like Grand National day etc. Or you can walk down to the Albion and get the number 14 there!
Cheers for your help guys, I think I might chance my look and leave a couple of minutes and get a jog onto the station. Could be tough leaving early if its tight at the end though! Don't fancy the taxi back to Liverpool if I can avoid it.
