I have certainly not been one of Betts' fans but I have to say a very solid and at times enterprising team tonight. Whether they are duals or not they wear the Widnes shirt and we certainly will win alot more than we lose with displays like that. Thanks dennis, thanks boys onward.................the beleif comes back very quickly.
I was (possibly still am) disappointed with the Betts appointment but it's hard to argue with a team performance like that last night.
He has gone a long way to restoring my faith in him.
The last game I was able to attend was Toulouse at home what seems like ages ago and the improvement was noticeable.
More organised, cohesive and structured defence. Moving up to meet the attacking team (in spells at least). The line defence deserved it's ovation from the North Stand in the last 5 - 10 minutes. Excellent to see.
In attack there are definitely some set plays on show. Some good lines being run and the ball reaches the wings a little more. What a lovely try by Kevin Penny!!!
There is still room for improvement but I am in a very good mood today following the game last night.
Well done Widnes and well done Denis... more of the same please!
