[quote="Saddened!":2z3zihp3]You seem suicidal because McNamara hasn't picked your precious Mickey Mac, who's better than Roby, and Darryl 'Meninga' Goulding who makes Jamie Lyon look like an amateur. [/quote:2z3zihp3]:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_52085.jpg
Im starting to get the feeling certain fax supporters are getting a bit twitchy about our prospects this year.
many of you need to stop ting your pants with regards everything widnes related
We were the better team from the off, We looked solid in defense and their one try was dubious, given that we looked like we had held him up. The main highlight was the Widnes singing section, Sang some corkers today and made it worth the trip on their own. Decent following from the Vikings too, Couldnt put a solid number on it but more than i expected.
We seemed to play the first half with the aim to play reasonably error free ( we failed ) and to grind them down. Even tho the score was close we never ever looked in danger of losing. Seccond half it all changed, Ianson at scrum half seemed to speed the ball along the line a little which allowed us to expose them out wide. That and the Siddal team starting to tire meant they started shipping points at a good rate. Jack Owen had a good game at fullback and started a few Widnes attacks with his running and offloads and looked solid under the high ball.
Sculthorp looked dangerous with the ball in hand and always looked for, and often managed to get the ball out. In defense he had a tendancy to charge out of the line and miss, not such a big deal today but will be punished againts better teams. This is probably something he will improve as he gets match fit.
Had a good laugh and chat with some fax fans today, on the whole a decent bunch. They even joked along with us that fax only have one song. On that note and the final whistle we managed to leave before the Fax fans gelled and managed a stirring rendition of Haaaaaaaaaalifax, Haaaaaaaaaaaaaalifax.... ( Continue for however long they are winning )
