I'll always remember Chris wearing his dad's old blue "Legion of Doom" shoulder pads when we played at Halton Hornets Under 11's! He was big enough then to wear his dad's old kit. Anyone who played with him as a kid may remember them!

He lived the dream playing for his home town club as we all did when we were kids, always destined for turning professional and will go down as one of those who got us back into Super League were we belong. He had a cracking season in 2001 and stood his own in Super League. You always want the local lad to do well and well he did. Always gave 110%.

Never a truer word spoken about him being a nice lad, not seen him for a few years but always had time for people. A true gent. Not only a credit to himself but to his family. Such a shame, 30 is far too young.

RIP Percy. You will be missed.
