Went to the Forum last night, the new home shirt is pure class! Forth coming fixtures should be out on Friday,according to Terry O'Connor. Alex Bonney said there should be a new Widnes website up and running hopefully by Friday or early part of next week. The only disappointing thing for me ,was to hear that we had only sold 1700 season tickets, so far, hopefully more will be bought as Xmas presents

Makes you wonder whether the people of Widnes really want professional rugby in the town or whether they're just Super Duper League bandwagon jumpers.

Hopefully we can get up to the 2,000 mark before the season, i think a lot of people are simply p!ssed off with the game at the minute. We will still sell more season tickets than anyone in this division.

I think the most important thing for me was the confidence and belief with which the panel spoke.

The board were absolutely certain that we would be in SL in 2012, whether they have had word from above or simply believed what they were doing i do not know but it was said with conviction.

With regards to the team, PC spoke very well of the culture and efficiency he is bringing to the squad and explained that many of the players released had too much baggage or were too injury prone. He only wants players who fit into the model they are bringing to the club and believes the current squad won't be such high maintenance and will consist of honest players who are willling and committed to do the hard work.

The effects of Cassidy's pre-season were evident particularly with Thomas Coyle who looks far leaner and fitter already.

I think the idea of us looking to build a squad from within will pay dividends and the fact that we've not rushed out to sign sl journeymen shows the thought and effort that has gone in to PC's vision of how he wants his squad to play.

A very worthwhile event all in all. We need to be thankful that we have such a solid and business like team leading our club.

In regards to season tickets I haven't got mine yet as with hitting Uni again I simply couldn't afford to get one before early bird etc!

As say I think in financial down turn you'll prob get a lot more have as a Christmas present rather than simply paying and then adding another cost elsewhere!

Kit looks top! Any mention of the away colours?

I think the recession will have had an impact but you'll find plenty of people like myself who are waiting for the right situation before they get theirs.

The new shirt looks great. It's not like anything we've had before and I'm glad we've got the old town crest on the shirt again - even if it is only on the back.










Chris Gerrard has been brought in from Wigan. He'll probably be playing LF. Danny Hulme is David Hulme's lad and came through our academy system.
