Hello everyone!

I'm posting a complaint or if you like a 'heads up' about the TalkSport radio programme website... I went on to post a topic and you have to go through the obvious profile info. One of the questions was What's your favourite sport? You know Rugby League was NOT listed? I know the studios are in London but you can recieve it nationally. According to TalkSport Rugby League doesn't exsist??! They had Rugby listed so when I looked it was purely rara... I mean Rugby Union. Do with this what you will but I find it completely abhorrent!! Another example of how our sport is ignored by the mass media! I'm posting this on every site so all Rugby League fans can act!

Talk Sport always had that ominous connection to that odious little face Nicky Campbell, we've never had a fair deal there. I think he is BBC now but it's still there.

Just be diplomatic and businesslike. No shouting or whining or pointing fingers, just tell them you'd like more RL coverage and if they did, you'd get a lot tuning in to listen to it. Make it sound positive or you'll just get more people accusing you of being chippy and unreasonable and they'll have less desire to get involved.

There is a definite deficiency in media coverage but we wont solve it by getting moody.

Talksport is a funny one. Next to no mention whatsoever of league in their sports talk shows but yet they [ialways[/i cover the results in the news bulletin.

Think it's cos they don't cover the games as the BBC has commentary rights yet their news is from Sky so always has the scores.

When Talksport started I remember them having a programme dedicated to RL with Stevo. It was ditched probably due to the lack of listeners and therefore I soppose the RL public can carry some of the blame.

Nicky Campbell to my knowledge has never been on Talksport.

However I am always impressed how many time certain presenters talk up RL on the station. Adrian Durham, Hawksbee and Jacobs often mention RL and appear to have an affection for it. Perhaps the sport still suffers from that age old M62 corridor/not being a nationwide sport.
