It is clear that the club is having financial problems. Personally I don't want to see them go to the wall.

This statement shows exactly where the blame for this farce lies.

It effectively shows that the licence procedure was a complete sham. It should make bringing the RFL to court in future a very realistic possibility. The RFL have told us all a pack of lies. They truley are a vile, dishonest organisation.

To think that this time last year we were being called all sorts for stating that CC need more time in NL1 to develop and that it was too soon for them.

We know mate. Obviously Celtic not the most favourite club around here but being from the north west we've all been to wales more times than we can count.

Some very nice parts of it too, like Angelsey and IIRC Mold.

Me neither Pepe, but if it so does happen and it turns out to be beneficial for the Vikings, who cares? There's no room for sentiment it seems these days and there was certainly no sentiment down in South Wales when we missed out.

Nothing to do with sentiment. It would be good for the game as a whole if CC were to succeed. My opinion of CC as a club, is actually very poor. I would feel for their fans, but the responsibility for any problems they may have is the fault of their club and the RFL for rushing them into SL with undue haste.

If it benefited Widnes then great, but it really isn't a good way to achieve anything.

To be honest, I reckon Widnes fans should stop getting all excited by this and stop constantly posting on threads on this subject on other boards. It's not doing us any favours, it really isn't. I don't actually think CC are about to go pop just yet and a lot will now depend on how things go in Newport next season. I wouldn't make plans for going up to SL for the next couple of years at least.

Neither could any other club that was suffering. No matter what happens, deep down i have the feeling the RFL are going to bend over backwards to keep them in a stable financial condition. I know its all old news but it just goes to show that CC where not ready for SL and moving 30 miles down the road next year wont help the situation with their fan base. I wouldn't wish it upon any club for them to go bust as we have been there before, just looks like how we predicted in the first place, a very optimistic experiment.
