| Well, 3 into 2 doesnt go, so what would you go with?
This post was going to be a lot different until Sneyds individual effort last night, as again, he flatters to deceive in my eyes with the ball. He plays to far from the defensive line meaning it is easier to read what he is going to do and his kick that led to the Griffin try was a shocking option, but fortunately it played out as it did in the end. Connor and Kelly have been fantastic in the halves, good passing ability, Connor has a good kicking game and they both attack the line, as well as being strong defensively.
Big call, but I would continue with Connor and Kelly in the halves next week against Cas. But saying that, Radders will probably put Connor to , Fonua to the wing and drop Michaels.

Sneyd needs to take the line on more, a LOT more, his kicking was poor last night a good 40% of the time. Connor and Kelly for me.

| Connor has been a terrific signing, has to be in the 17. When Kelly's back a choice between dropping Michaels and pushing Mahe out or dropping Sneyd. Crazy times.

In a good way!!
Still need a forward, we are missing Ellis for his leadership, nobody (from what I could see/hear) was really rallying us for the first 60 or so minutes.

| Can always put one on the bench as an option. More importantly having 3 players allows them to be rested better and hopefully avoid situations where injured players are starting.

| I can't see Kelly extending his contract again, so keeping Abdul may be important for medium to long term

He's better at taking on the line than Sneyd, doesn't kick all the time when a pass would be a better option, be happy to see all three in the side!

Whilst i think keeping JA would be a good long term investment as I and a fair few others have said he's not the style of player Radford has looked to use certainly not at LF. Also would Kelly be in big demand even IF he continues on in the same vein as \this year, he'll be 28 by the time he would be starting at a new club in 2019, would he be a target for a club in a role that would pay him big enough bucks for him to move back there, is money the motivation or is it that he might just want to move back home even if on similar wages but lesser chance of first team rugby? he's currently a bigger fish in our pond, would he be considered good enough to be a starter back in the NRL, that's again based on the hypothetical top form being played in 2018 and/or no bad injuries so it's all supposition at this moment in time.
Someone asked previously if we had indeed uprated kelly from his salary this year and I replied I thought it would be a considerable jump all things considered, but in any case either the club saw the one year as a balancing act/bit of a gamble or Kelly simply only wanted one year in any case.
Personally given when the signing was made (after showing us how good he could be) I thought it a little strange to only sign a one year contract extension. IF kelly does continue in this vein next season then his stock goes up again and it could cost us more and IF an NRL club were interested beyond 2018 he'd have still being under contract and thus we could have got a fee for him of some value. This is why I'm unsure as to why just the one year extension for what was a valuable and top form player when the extension was signed.
it's clearly in his best interests to keep performing/keeping his head straight from a financial POV if NRL clubs do come sniffing but as we know from the past, rumours started by agents are solely done to ensure that they can extract as much money as possible to retain the services of said player.
All that said we have Connor/kelly or Sneyd/Kelly with Connor at centre, some are saying Connor is the better option than Sneyd and certainly from a goal kicking POV and other aspects Connor is pretty much a match, in that he has massively exceeded expectation, i for one really wasn't sure where he was going to play if everyone fit but with Griffin's form being well off the pace, Fonua and Talanoa injuries and also Sneyd's he's probably the best value signing for some years.
So if kelly does go after next season who plays where and who replaces him, if anyone would we sign to replace him, is Connor/Sneyd a viable long term option in the halves, I don't think it is.

| I have said previously on here that i saw Connor only as a decent utility player.
In the last weeks he has come on leaps and bounds at both centre and half back.
If next week was the cup semi or cup final and everyone was fit i could see Radford running with Connor and Kelly at Half back.
The fact that Michaels picked up a knock yesterday and didnt have his best game it leaves it open for Radford to move Connor back to centre and Kelly/Sneyd at half back.
If it was me on friday i would continue with Connor/Kelly at half back and give Griffin an extended run off the bench in the second row as apart from Griffin our bench had no impact at all.

If you are not part of the solution then you are more likely part of the problem...: |
|
| Our last tackle options towards the end of the Cas game showed how valuable Sneyd is to Hull. He would have punished Cas more as opposed to some bang average kicks by both Connor and Houghton.
Fully fit squad and Connor is right centre with Fonua on the wing.
Also I can see Griffin having a strong finish to the season making him an ideal bench player who can cover backs and forwards if needed. His attitude over the last couple of weeks is really positive and needs to be utilised. No surprise that he played so well last night!
