| Super stuff Wilf and what a great effort by the boys yesterday. It certainly makes your job easier when they're doing the business. I couldn't go yesterday as I'm not very well at the moment but did listen to Humberside and was quite pleased with Mr. Stead's commentary (what a pleasant change from Gollum). As you say the really pleasing thing about the win was the game management that has long been our downfall. Pryce and Sneyd appear to be the answer to our prayers so lets hope we can keep them fit. Well done to all those who went along to support the team and they really are the best supporters in the land.
I really enjoyed your piece about dear old Mick Scott and I was privileged to be at Maine Road when Hutton kicked that winning goal. In those days we seemed to get to finals with ease, so lets hope that's going to the be case in the future.
Thanks again for your effort and here's looking forward to Friday!!

| I too was at the Maine Road match and on the pitch dancing with joy after the final whistle. Mick Scott was a wonderful specialist open side prop and one reason he didn't receive more international honours was that he played in the same era as the great Alan Prescott who played and captained Gt Britain/England in that position.

| Wilf,
Another quality and informed read, thank you. It was a joy to witness our performance both on the field and in the crowd yesterday. It's a 'Happy Monday' for this supporter and hopefully you've got more good news for us in the season ahead!!

| great read as usual, all the better for that performance ! didn't expect that really. the most pleasing thing for me was the incredible effort in defence, and the game management, what a difference two clever halves make. I know its only one game, but it sure gives you a bit of optimism dosnt it (btw thanks for showing the back of my head on the fourth picture, I know its me because that's my daughter in the daft hat lol)

| Thanks for this weeks diary Wilf, I do not recall ever seeing Mick Scott play, I was probably to busy watching the Drakes steamrollering the opposition, being 7 didn't help but in 50 years time who, from this era, will the fans be talking about

| Lovely bloke was Mick, played against him a few times when he played for Dockers.
The Maine rd final was my first season as a fan, but my overriding memory of Mick was the drop goal against
Albi, for a 19- 19 (I think) draw which made us the only ever? European champions.
Iirc it was a round robin comp between Carcassone, Albi, Halifax & Hull.
