Given the number of emergency services involved I wouldn't be surprised if the entire section is closed in both directions. Bound to cause major delays in the entire area.
My thoughts though are with all involved and not with a rugby match.

Just been reading on Sky News and the motorway is closed so wouldn't be surprised if we are effected tonight.....not that it metters in the context of the accident, looks very serious.

if rumours of all the air ambulances around are correct then both sides will be affected for some time
Eastbound is reported to be down to 1 lane at the moment.

Passed it about 3pm Eastbound all open and ok. Westbound was just opening 1 lane up.The scene on the Eastbound still looked pretty bad even 4 hours after the accident |
