I kind of agree with you. The cap was there in the first place to stop clubs getting into financial difficulty. I guess allowing clubs to spend over that due to injuries may just make it pointless having a cap in the first place. Would probably be a better idea if the SL made clubs only allowed to spend 90% of their cap to use 10% for contingency of injuries?

I'm not just saying I dont agree with the comments just because it's Rule, I just think it's a bad idea. The scrapping of P&R has taken the pressure off situations like this.

But they've changed it now so it doesn't stop that, a club can still spend £1.7m (or thereabouts) even if they only have £1.5m coming in.

As it?
I'm sure there is no pressure on Agar and the board from FC fans to finish higher than 14th.

Can they? Hadnt noticed that.
Even if theyve changed it what the cap does is minimise the amount a club can overspend. I guess if a club could claim poverty through injuries they'd be able to over stretch themselves even more.

It's been argued that no P&R can take the pressure of a side to win games and allow them to blood more kids etc.

Oh you mean like Craig Hall and Reece Lyne?
If there was no pressure and we now can blood youngsters why the hell have we signed McShane from Leeds on loan.

Would have to be tightly governed. You'll end up with Warrington bringing in 4 or 5 short term loan deals on 100K each for 4 games that dont count on the cap.

Doesn't have to be ready yet, there is no pressure remember.

| It would be to open to abuse, how injured would a player have to be to trigger this clause. I can imagine if it is a player who's been ruled out for the season but non of the names mentioned are season ending injuries. What would happen when the players are back would the new signing be released or would the club be allowed to have a full squad over the cap?
