| Were looking at a young aussie half,sorry no name. Thinking about our recruitment and people saying we got big bucks to spend still leaves me a bit worried tbh. Takes this season we put all our eggs in the basket for fielden and lms and ended re-signing dowes and radford. What worries me for 2012 is I reckon wire could be in the market if briers makes this his last year,if eastmond and pryce leave saints there going to be in the market with us chasing the same half backs imo,guess the rule spin of us wanting to be on the front foot and get our recruitment done early otherwise we will be looking at the players the top clubs don't want

It sounds like recruitment is a never ending process nowadays and it is not just about the here and now but more 2 or 3 years down the line.
I reckon Hull have sounded out a couple of targets for 2012 but I dont know if deals can be done this early more verbal agreements which may mean nowt.

We'll probably end up signing Briers!

Tis true though Neil as The Brother says next year is likely to be both Briers and Deacons last as players as well as Long at Hull. To entice the big name scrum half for 2012 then we are competing with the big hitters that are Wigan and Warrington.
The early bird catches the worm so to speak...

Fully agree, Double whammy with image rights and now offshore retirement payments (although no idea whether these have formed part of packages for, say, O'Meley/Fitz) being tackled.

I think you will still get the older Aussies who cannot get an NRL contract but have reasonably high stock across here but not players of the Cooper Cronk calibre.

[quote="The Reason":3e09qe5x]Hi Andy
The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

Cronk isn't a young pup anymore, he's in the age group of players who come across now.
