With the little cap space we have left going into 2011 (at this moment), we're looking to bring in a squad player only. No names given to me unfortunately.

Also been told that Calders could be rejoining us (I think he's still training with the team), with the other option for him being Crusaders.

Out of curiosity, who's told you this?

If Calderwood has proven his fitness, and will accept a reduced 1 year deal, and we have no prospect of a half-back joining us...then I would have no issue with him re-joining.

How many times has Briscoe actually played centre? Or is it just something that Agar has mentioned?

If you are not part of the solution then you are more likely part of the problem...:

Played centre all through his youth iirc. Only moved to the wing in 2008/9 to cover injury to Gareth Raynor.

Certainly played his first couple of first team games (friendlies) at left centre against Donny and the Giants.

Cheers!

I'd definately like to see Sharp and Calders on the wing with Yemo and Briscoe in the centres, can't help thinkin it will lack creativity though

I agree about Briscoe in the centres think he will be a star there. I want a centre who can create something from nothing and score from distance, Briscoe gives us that IMO.

Tom can def create something from nothing for himself, it's just for the man outside him that's my concern, especially when Yemo is no good at that.

I think he has shown a decent pair of hands on a couple of occasions tbf. Putting Horne through in the derby and Cudjoe against the Aussies (Ok it was forward!) as well as the pass for Clubbs first try against PNG show that he is aware of what is on around him I just dont think he is encouraged to do this too much from the wing position.

Only one way to for him to develop into a centre and that is by playing him there and he has succeeded at everything else thrown at him at such a young age.

Nothing seems to faze him.

Not entirely convinced Briscoe can create something from nothing personally. Only if by something from nothing you mean he forces a tackle break then races to the line. The main attributes he's shown in the first team are his pace, strength, and finishing instinct, not so much the creative/imaginative side IMO.
