I rather bin Evans than Taylor, at least we would have a non fed place to play with, no good paying off Taylor if we can't replace him.
Griffin, we could use his money to sign Longstaff.

| I wouldn't be disappointed with Shaun Wane, however his only club coaching role was at Wigan. I accept that it has it's own unique pressures however it's not the toughest job in Rugby League. He hasn't experienced a club or situation like ours. So I'd personally prefer Smith, he has that more rounded experience.

When has opinion and sense ever gone hand in hand?

I can't see any club taking Griffin, not in SL, maybe Fev or Leigh.

That’s my view too, as good as he was at Wigan he’d only ever coached there. From the youths upwards. Would he have the same passion moving to a completely new club he has no previous ties too? I’m not sure.

Agree Dave. Seems ridiculous to not want him because he had a nightmare season as a player 13 years ago.
Smith wanted him when he was at Rovers so obviously rates him.

| Whoever comes in will have one hell of a hot potato on their hands and to be fair all the names mentioned so far such as Smith, Maguire & Wane all have good credentials, have proven experience and have shown in their previous jobs they have the ability to improve teams. BUT and its a big but this is a Hull FC team that we are talking about that seems to have a small group who think they run the show and are coach killers so its a very tough gig.
I find it hard to understand how certain players can look at themselves in the mirror and not feel disgusted and embarrassed by the continual capitulations and pitiful performances they've dished out. They can't have any self respect and that shows in lack of respect for the club and the shirt they wear.

He was a decent player in his time, just not at Hull.

I just want to see some improvement, something about from the covid season we haven't had in years.
One thing I like, Is that it sounds like Pearson is allowing Smith (or another coach) to bring in his own team, something that Hodgson wasn't allowed and still the main reason I think Watson didn't come.

Thorman for whatever reason (maybe just too big a club and pressure)was truly awful as a player in his time at Hull but as a player elsewhere he was more than decent. He certainly possesses a decent rugby brain though whether he is experienced or hard enough to be be able to deal with players like ours I'm unsure as it isn't going to be pretty if the law is laid down from day one as it should be. His coaching record doesn't seem to set the world alight either to suggest we can expect great things.
Wonder what Danny Orr is doing?

| The one thing that I'm encouraged about is all the names that we have been linked with are experienced first team coaches who have all been successful.
Having said that you can almost guarantee we'll appoint another assistant coach which will leave us scratching our heads !!

Good thing about Smith is he'll be used to coaching big egos and getting a tune out of them.
Wane and Madge get spoken about as disciplinarian, but Smith won't be a mug
