Good for you, tbh I could not care less what Rovers have.
Imo its about partnerships in the halves and if Thorman and Horne work well together then I will be happy.

| I like Dobson and think we should have made a move for him.
But I would take our halfback pairing for next season rather than Rovers.

I disagree, unless he ups the ante considerably over his last season's performances on both sides of the world. Of course it will also depend on who partners him...
Quote: JB Down Under "Can you say the same about Thorman?'"
Possibly. If he can add even some basic organisation alongside Horne then we might be OK. If we'd had him to step in for Dykes last season we might well have been up there given the narrow losing margin in a number of games.

We did. He priced himself out.

Likewise.

As it stands at the moment you have 2 stand offs who are pretty similar in the way they play in your halves for next season. Im suprised you dont see that as a problem.

As opposed to the scrum half and 2 loose forwards, make that 3 if you put Galea alongside Murrell and the other one who's name/life has been forgotten

| Dobson's performances for both Les Cats and Wigan were good, but certainly not as good as being made out. I certainly do not rate him as a specialist 7 as IMO he only looks dangerous in broken play, if the defensive line is held then he looks completely ineffective. Whilst he may of been the decider in some games, he's been a liability in others. I'm sure many will disagree.
I dont think either Thorman or Dobson are the SH's of a top SL team. But i can handle Thorman for a season given who we are looking at for 2010.

And you dont have a running halfback, you have two organisers, one of which hasnt consistanley played well for two seasons now, and is a known bad influence off the filed

Dobson has took the line on very well IMO, I think we look pretty well balanced in our halves.
Lets not go on about bad influences off the field, both our teams have them!

If you are happy with Cooke performances in the last two years then fair enough.
Cooke and Dobson are too simalar to play halfback together, even Morgan knows this, and prefares to play a backrower at SO, for a few games.

| Neither Dobson or Thorman are good enough for top 6 sides especially when you consider who they will be playing alongside in the halves.

Thorman would not be my preferred partner for Horne. However, they should work reasonably well together and do complement each other in one or two areas. This should be a huge improvement over recent seasons, if only because we should get some consistency at last.
And don't forget that Thorman is only here for one season.
I rate Horne more highly than any of Rovers likely partners for Dobson, and I don't rate Dobson that highly. Hence I am happier with our pairing overall. That does not mean that I think it is perfect, or good enough for the long term.

| We finsihed the season with Washbrook and Lee at halfbacks.
We should start the season with Horne and Thorman at halfbacks.
Dont think I need to say anmore, the improvement is massive.

| Given the rumours of his apparent unrest at Wakey would anybody on here entertain the prospect of bringing Jamie Rooney to the KC, perhaps in exchange for Lee Radford?
