I choose to earn probably 10k less than I could to stay local. You seem to be judging ambition by monetary means. If his ambition is to be a SL player maybe he feels he can achieve it closer to home. |

quite right mate but also,
I know of many players past & present at Toulouse and the LER who have been offered seemingly better offers from english clubs (including at least one SL club) but when the sums have been done it actually works out a worse deal when things like a car & accommodation etc are taken into account.So they are better of staying in france.
That's not to mention the lads who choose to remain in france,worse off because of the quality of life etc.
sometimes 'ambition' and what may be is disregarded for the more practical things in life... |

If we sign him I'd like to see him move over. Prefer that with younger players it helps their development and we can keep a closer eye out. The older guys are a different kettle of fish although it's obviously better to have them in Hull if possible. Ellis certainly seems to be well thought of at Leigh. If he wants to play pro SL he should get across to Hull and put all his efforts into achieving it.

Given the new, vastly increased salary cap in AUS, I think you're really going to struggle to get any players (esp decent halfs) of any worth over now. |
