Well I did'nt pick that up from the Daily Mail, however we will just have to wait and see although I have to say that I hope it is right, I'd rather have LMS and/or Fielden and a quota place open for a half back if berro goes.

I have read the article in the Mail about Mason and the more I read it the more I think he is trouble. He's after a big pay day, and is almost inciting an auction. The wages he is reported to be wanting would be enough for two top line British Props, so would it be the best way of spending our Money? Rovers are for me only intersted in him because they see it as a way of boosting their attendances which have dropped by 500 this season. They want a Longy, Fitz or Ogre character but Mason comes with more baggage than them lot put together. Anyone signing him could rue the day they do, but the Mail are trying to force the issue, to sell papers. THats just my opinion though and we will have to wait and see.

Personally I think his best two positions are fullback and hooker. At Leeds he was hit and miss in the halves.

As things stand currently Mason won't be coming to us. His agent believes he should be SLs top earner and he wanted a huge sum or a 3 year deal neither of which KH was willing to offer. The deal was there to be done but I reckon we have done the right thing saying no.

Plus a top, top aussie agent is coming to the club tomorrow to discuss next season and the one after, could be interesting.....
