| Quote Mrs Barista="Mrs Barista"An ugly win. Not a great game to watch and very poor refereeing performance (although the linesman played a blinder) - really skinny ten. Conditions weren't great and some good performances from Tansey, Whiting, Tickle, Cusack, Lauaki and (goes without saying) Fitz.
[uLast year we would have lost that game, [/uthough, and it's 2 wins against 2 of last year's top 3. 14,500 attendance as well.'"
Yes we would have done, I agree with your post though I felt we had the rub of the green with lady luck for once, last year that full length try by Huds would have been given..Not unhappy a wins a win
Huddersfield were a good outfit, our defence has improved 100%

Ever consider playing open footie instead of spoiling?

your right there cod'ead, i cant stand to watch them play, they really spoil all 80 minutes, still it got them to 3rd in the league last season, so it must work for them

They weren't tries though were they?
Hull should have had it sewn up by 1/2 time. Disappointing 2nd half for me. Looked a lot like it did last season. Lots of one out rugby, lack of direction, poor options in the opposition 20 and terrible kicking game. Big plus point was the defence although we were playing a massively under strangth hudds side so disappointed it wasn't a more convincing win

Lolesi didn't ground the ball and Gilmour knocked the ball forward before Hodgson collected to race through. So given that neither were tries they couldn't be disallowed.

| 1st half was a good performance, but 2nd half was a bit poor at times.
still it was a tough game (as it always is against Hudds) and it is exactly the kind of game we've been throwing away for the last 2 years. Its the 'arm wrestle' ones at home that have been out big downfall before.
considering it was cold and wet, and against a physical side it was a good 2 points

2 weeks in and 2 of last seasons top 3 beaten that's good enough to start with.

| Thought we got the rub of the green tonight with a couple of decisions. Robinson also blew a clear try for Hudds. That said we dominated for large periods but we could not get that extra score to kill the game, credit should go to the Hudds defence.
We toughed it out well which is pleasing as you can't always play well every week.

| It was a very workman like win. Classic free flowing rugby league was never going to be the case on a cold, wet February night. As has been said, this was exactly the type of game we've been losing over the last couple of years.
This sort of win will do us good. We can take a lot from it but there is still plenty of room for improvement.
