I agree with you to some extent and believe you don't get capped for austraila for nothing.I just think for whatever reason it has not worked out for him here and maybe he needs a change.I think its fair to say he has gone backwards,with even Danny Houghton taking the number nine shirt off him on merit.It was always going to be hard stepping into the boots of Richard Swain and maybe if he does go back to Oz it could be a blessing for us and him under the circumstances. |

wouldnt gold coast have topay compo? as canterbury did for greg eastwood....would be interesting in howmuch value we placed on shauns head...or maybe we would want to get him off our wage bill pronto....who knows.

I would hope they pay compo....interesting that we paid compo for Westerman, maybe the club knew as the rumours have been strong since the end of last season. |

Wouldn't the astronomical salary saving he is reputed to be on be enough compo for you. You paid for Westerman because he is a young player developed by another club, at least you didn't do a Bailey/Whiting job on Cas. |

Personally I would not be bothered about compo, as you say his salary would be a massive saving, however the fact remains he is contracted so I would expect compo to be paid.
I thought it was a fantastic move by the club to pay compo for Westerman like you say he is young with hopefully plenty to offer. |

For us old farts its called a transfer fee and a lot will remember FC and Rovers paying out some big fees in days gone by for such players as Skerrett, Kelly (  ), Hogan, Norton (20k was a steal, how much now), Fairbairn and many others. Its only fair a club who brings a young lad on gets paid accordingly, otherwise they may as well pack up academies altogether. |

I'm sure we offered £160k for John woods of Leigh, he wouldn't leave though. Remember when Bunting offered Whitehaven the loan of the whole Hull FC team to stop them losing to Leigh in a midweek game? |
