Its only my opinion though as i dont claim to know the ins and outs of how councils fund things. Its a pity these people that decide where the cuts are to be dont look at themselves first. But that will never happen will it'"
Just to clear this up, once and for all.
A sale of an asset could NOT be used to generate income to plug any funding shortfall, it would be ringfenced in many ways for specific expenditure.
rlFrom the f'whits mouthrl
Quote: jeffers#1 "Coun Minns said a sale would not help the council's dire financial situation because Government accounting rules mean that capital receipts cannot be used to run services or pay wages.'"

But we are living in uncertain times and the public purse is close to breaking point. Perhaps a relaxation of these specific rules may be in order to aid short term cash flow and plug holes in this councils finances. I'm not saying they will, but it should certainly be looked at.
Seems pointless owning assests if they cannot be turned into cash and in this case the KC is not generating income for the council. Plus if they do sell it they will get income from the business rates. Everyone's a winner.

Not a chance, and nor should it be, the Public Service is bloated and the cuts are completely warranted, it's just where the axe is falling that needs addressing.
Or do you want all assets in private hands?

Never said that did i?? and i do agree public spending is ridiculously high, but if they sold the KC for say £40m, surely that money could be spent on fixing roads and improving other council facilities (and i don't mean CP either ).
What do the council get out of the KC, that they wouldn't if it were sold to the Allams??

Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.; [/color:1g6itio7][/b:1g6itio7]:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_663.jpg |

| Lets get one thing out in the open the vast majority of KR supporters are salivating and getting all moist because there is a chance they can get rid of our club once and for all.
There has been a long history of them attempting or plotting our demise over the years since the days of our merger and a failed attack by one of there chairmen. There have been other since and it would appear that there whole ambition would be the destruction of our club.
I know of not one instance where our club has taken any action against to the long term detriment to their club. I know some KR uspporters have even contacted there local city councillors urging them to agree the sale.
Sad ..................................

Think you're just being a tad paranoid there Ian.
I think the vast majority of sensible fans (which excludes about 80% of those who post on here) don't want to see the end of either club. A situation has merely arisen where a private buyer has expressed an interest in buying a public asset, something which happens pretty much everyday of the week nationwide.

But not as mute as 25,000 at one of City's fixtures.

Absolute rubbish. I have many good friends who, along with their families, are Hull FC fans. Why would i want Hull to die when it would clearly upset them?
I am sure the over-riding majority of Robins are in the same position so dont tar us with the same brush with a few idiots who may, or may not, have contacted the Council on this issue.

The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.
