Im disappointed to see him go as he must of been doing something right to get Reserve player of the year but on the other hand he's been playing second row, which is a position we have more than enough cover in and we've just promoted a second rower to the first team squad who is two years younger.

Even if he did go back to hooker for next season, he's still going to be 3rd choice at best. At least we've still got Hall, Houghton, the Briscoes, Kent, Lyne etc. I'd off been hugely disappointed if any of these went.

I think the last year of his contract is optional and I can see the club wishing to adjust that finacially at least. I was being slighty provocative with Berro, I did offer a clue ...................

but people failed to use there nonce to pick up on it.



I was pointing out that did FC offer Josh enough money and if they did why are KR not going to pay any compo to FC.

People can say whatever they want about him leaving or using him leaving as a chance to slag off our youth structure.

The fact of the matter is he will have more 1st grade opportunities at Rovers than he would here so you cant knock him for leaving to further his career.

This choice was nothing to do about money despite how people may be trying to spin it.

I think you're being harsh on Ian P in his assessment of Berrigan.

If we rewind to mid season before any ins/outs at hooker, I would have said Lee/Houghton at hooker with Hodgson as cover is good enough and releasing Berrigan could have freed up wages to bring in a class halfback (totally unconvinced that we'll have an ever-present Horne/Long combo next season).

Berrigan is undoubted class but has never been fit whilst here and looks like he'd rather be anywhere else - that sort of body language from the senior player in the squad is disappointing when he should be right in the mix rallying the troops. Maybe he would accept a release since he looks totally fed up, who knows?

As it is, Lee's burnt his bridges, so maybe we were right to go with Berro and Houghton after all but Berro won't be playing at the start of the season, so if Houghton is injured, what then?
