that knock-on should be his last act in a Hull shirt, even if he'd caught the thing he wouldn't have had the pace to make the line!

I wouldn't be picking Howarth or Yeaman either. But team selection is waaaaay down on our list of priorities right now.

| Where are the chosen few, the cheerleaders? Have they got any thoughts on our imperical display of all out rugby and why Radford should not fall on his sword?
Pearson is so out of touch it's damaging our club not just in the short term but the long term too.

Incompetent people are by definition incapable of recognising their incompetence.

| I'd also like to hand the Chris Thorman Lifetime Achievement award to Mark Sneyd for an impeccably inept display in the halves, did one single kick or pass actually come off!? another great bit of transfer business.

We need to stop blaming halfs and binning them off - Sneyd is quality - its the system he and the team play that makes him play so e

You've pretty much hit the nail on the head.
If every single player put in so much effort that they all died of exhaustion at the final whistle, we would still be useless.
That's because it's nothing to do with effort. It's our lack of structure, brains, support play, kicking game, adventurousness and speed. I can't comment too much on tonight because I've not seen it. But based on what I have seen this year I can honestly say I've seen better, more structured attacking play whilst having a kick about in east park.

I haven't seen anything from him to get excited about, but I do accept that even Peter Sterling or Andrew Johns in their pomp would look crap in that side!

| To be fair to Sneyd, he looked decent under a good coach, much the same Luke Gale looks decent this year.
Sometimes it's the systems, not the players.

First game back, ring rusty in a team low on confidence/short of ideas and a game plan not to do anything off the cuff, fear factor kicks in and you end up with exactly that. Not saying he's not at fault but there are reasons why.

His attacking kicks are the thing that has disappointed me, because however poor the team is that's one area where you can always be a threat. His kicking has been poor.
But the rest of the game can't be put on him at all. The best player in the world can't perform if his team mates have no idea what they should be doing.

| Absolutely disgraceful performance. Terrible team selection and completely lacking any plan A. Why accommodate yeaman and shuffle the entire team around him? Please Radford GO!

| Just got in. Firstly, any news on Bowden? Looked a nasty injury...
Second, big wraps to Mickey Paea again. Thought he was pretty good, will be interesting to watch again and see if he was just the best of a bad bunch.
Third, onwards to Salford. Those two points have gone. They've got a week to put it right and change whatever it was that isn't working because that was appauling from the off.

Radford basically said he thought Bowden's lay off would be a long one, but didn't really elaborate much on that.
As for the last part of your post. Salford have problems of their own with the men they have missing, so I wouldn't rule out a win. But we are just not going to see any improvement under the current setup. A win against Salford would just be backed up by a few more weeks of embarrassing beatings. We've been looking for signs of progress ever since Radford got the job, but we have just gone backwards at an alarming rate in the 18 months since Gentle left. There isn't a prayer of Radford being able to put it right.
