| I've certainly enjoyed these Olympics more than Athens or Beijing. As well as we did in Beijing, from the opening Ceremony, it felt it was just China trying to make a ttatement, style over substance. These games feel more as though they've been given back to the crowd, the enthusiasm has been amazing.

Basic factual errors in his interview with Louis Smith earlier, descended into toe-curling mumbled nonsense. When you've got Hazel Irvine, Gabby Logan, even Inverdale available, he's plainly and simply the wrong choice. Only real criticism with the coverage.

| It's a rarity, but for once I feel my license fee has been well channelled! The Beebs coverage has been superb with only occasional exception.

another criticism i would say is now because of global media coverage, interviewing athletes straight after races if the've done poorly, it's not fair.

Yeah I saw it, someone has been arrested for it apparently.

| Next fight is against Japan's Satoshi Shimuzu on Friday Afternoon between 2 & 2.30. Should he win that, the final will be Saturday Night 8.45.

After last year's failure to list one single female in the shortlist of ten, she has a point, especially given the rlten who were nominatedrl

| The Sports Personality of the Year has been a joke in recent years anyway.
Calzaghe, McCoy and Giggs all won because of voting campaigns, not because they were the most deserving winners.

She does, there won't be a shortage this year and there are plenty of worth winners but Bradley Wiggins is the most deserving IMHO.
Is it internet voting these days ? I don't really follow it. While they can get a lot more votes that way its not really accurate like posting in a form from the Radio Times!

Telephone apparently: "The public will be able to vote for their BBC Sports Personality of the Year by telephone; details of the numbers to vote on will be given out during the programme (The One Show, when Lineker announced the shortlist)."

| having been down last week to a couple of events, the standard of organisation is superb - easily the best of any large event i've been to. the volunteers are all friendly and efficient, a mile away from the usual jobsworth types you get. the army did our security, again they were well organised and very friendly - a credit to them for stepping in at short notice. 30000 people at eton dirney for the rowing and it was so easy to get in and out on the buses. the hyde park party is great too, and you get free travel round london with your olympics ticket so its easy to call in on hyde park then get across to the main site and back. above all its the friendliness off all the supporters of the different countries, and the positive atmosphere that hits home when you are down there, plus the crowd reactions at the events - i'll never forget the wiggins time trial day. as another poster has said these are fast becoming the people's olympics. only regret is that i couldn't get a velodrome ticket - that place is rocking
plus it helps when you win as well
