Super league will definitely be part time in 5 years
The lack of ambition has finally caught up and sky know they can save money as RL has no other bidder and is begging sky for a deal so sky can offer peanuts
the fact the salary cap is similar to the one signed in 2000. Show how bad the game in this country has gotten the salary cap should be atleast 5m these days looking at inflation!
It's Best game of all but it shoots itself in the foot to much to be taken seriously by big investors
Think Pearsons threat is a pipe dream and he needs the SMC/allams to get on board. We can barely afford transfers let alone 20m minimum for a new stadium!

Interesting read and sounds pretty much like our situation, especially this;
“However, we must also look at extending our tenancy at the AJ Bell stadium, safeguarding our future at our ground in the City of Salford, regardless of ownership. We appreciate the council stating their ‘reassurance for commitments for Salford Red Devils’ upon any sale.
“Our current tenancy agreement is simply unsustainable for the club and we have been seeking a new deal on terms that we can afford. CosCos have supported the club with rental payment arrangements in recent seasons, we hope that we can strike a new agreement that allows both parties a mutually sustainable level.”
This is all going to end in tears, hope it’s not mine, I’ve shed enough over the years. Just a thought, can’t the Council ask for the SMC’s books, do an appraisal for any wrong doing regards the debt mountain? Wilf and Mrs B would do free gratis, I’m sure

Its been a bad move for Salford as its located out of town and despite much better on the field form they have lost fans who can no longer just walk there. Also like us they've lost a bit of home advantage as The Willows and The Boulevard could intimidate away teams. Can't blame them for moving though as there was a big push to move/upgrade grounds during the Franchising era and they may have lost their SL place if they stayed at The Willows.
Union seem to understand nothing beats building your own home, which is clear from the vast money spent on Twickenham, Wasps taking over at the Ricoh, and now Sale trying to get the AJ Bell (they wanted to build a new ground but the Council aren't supporting that) in contrast several RL clubs have moved in with football teams and the RFL bought the crater that is Odsal...

Worryingly I think that is all the power they have in their deal with the SMC. The Allams have done worse before such as kicking the amateur teams from the arena and the council couldent do anything.

| Ehab Allam has followed a rich Turkish guy on Instagram who has previously stated he's after a club with Premier League potential...Cross your fingers folks!
Hull Daily Mail now believe the price is about £20m plus future revenues from previous transfers (pretty much the rest of the Jarod Bowen sale)

| Acun Ilıcalı, reported net worth of about £100m.
Hard to know if this would be good news or bad for us.

The deal they knocked back from the US led consortium was reportedly £100 million plus and lost it due to SMC greed, beggars belief.

I think that was more likely due to the Allams bluff being called, as personally I don't believe they have any intention to sell until the milk cow runs completely dry as the interest payments alone on their so called investment are too lucrative, plus there are the add ons of the player transfer fee's etc.
Had they genuinely had a true intention to sell up and get out they would have done so long ago.

| Any new owners of the SMC can only be “as bad”, surely not “worse”?

Could the Allams flog City but retain the SMC?
