No ban, £500 fine, free to play Friday against Wigan

Surpised he got off with a fine, especially after seeing him with the clenched fist winding up for the punch in the Mail, and hearing that he couldn't put in an early guilty plea.

I know he got a sin bin for the offence but to me the no ban is more an acknowlegement that Hicks had lost control of the game.

No doubt ex referees will have a different view.....

I thought he'd connected from where I was sat, but the fact he missed is irrelevant, the intent was there.

As I said earlier the incident was due to Hicks losing control of the game, and I therefore feel justice was done by Ogre getting sin bin sufficient.

Missing isn't irrelevant. If he'd connected and broke the other player's jaw he'd have been looking at more than a £500 fine

£500 is a stupid fine, it should be £5000 if they want to make it a deterrent.

If he missed him he certainly got him at the Boulevard - one of the dirtiest cheap shots I've ever seen and smashed his jaw into the bargain. There must have been some bad blood between those two.

Dannat got done for Hanleys jaw, the intent might have been Schoey. I rememeber him getting 6 after seeing red at Boulevard.
