What's the point in being pedantic? We all know what the posters referring too. Or is it easier to dismiss his point because he never stated the 'exact' words spoken?
Pearson said that by October/November people would clearly see the direction we were taking (or words to that effect). Since then we've signed Lynch and Martin and saved a whopping £5 on our passes. More spin than Shane Warne.

why do people think that it is only stuff that happens on the pitch regarding players and not off it?
the whole coaching set up has seen a massive change in direction, too many fans have been caught up on a wave of silly rumours, chinese whispers and believing what their mates tell the in the pub!

Maybe because the playing side is the most important? Have a look at our squad, is it good enough for top 4 in your opinion? Because it certainly isn't in mine.
Why do we need a DOR, head coach and two assistants? Name me any club that's had success this way?
I've already mentioned the spin we got about pass prices and the voucher exchange.
I'm not unreasonable enough to suggest it should all be done in a couple of months, but AP is putting out as much spin as the old regime.
It's like we've gotten rid of Shane Warne only to get Muttiah Muralitharan.

it so simple that many just seem it doesn't exist!
SALARY CAP!
if we don't have the space we can't sign the players
as for spin, name a club, company or buisness that doesn't use it everyday
passes have come down, £60 if you were a east stand pass holder last season and wish to go unreserved this year, ok only a fiver has been deducted elsewhere but how many other clubs have reduced prices without resorting to desperate measures lke bradford and hudds?
DOR? did you read or listen to anything mcrea said why he took the job, mainly to assist pearson
i suggest if you're that peeved off, stick to cricket!

I completely understand what you're saying and do agree to some extent. I don't think it's spin, more a case of not managing expectations properley. Maybe AP is frustrated at not being able to deliver everything he wants but in a short space of time he had already shaped our club for the better.
The coaching structure looks much better and people have clearly defined roles, we have a new head coach we we craved and two young assistants. Lynch was a great signing and Martin not so. We had already recruited pretty well before he came and he was left with little room to work with.
I will take at least a season to get us into a top four side but we have taken significant steps for the better I feel.

Ah right, the salary cap. Explain to me then, how AP can imply that we never spent the full cap under the old regime, then take into account who's leaving and who's coming in and tell me why McRae said we're at or near full cap?
I'll ignore all your other 'drivel'. As its largely irrelevant.

Clearly defined roles? Gentle has 2 assistants FFS.

| I think we struggle to attract players, the salary cap doesn't help but clubs find way's around that so let's not be naive to think that's the only reason.
Hull has a very bad reputation.
AP should really check himself though before making bold statements about top 4 and how in the past recruitment was poor, so he deserves criticism when the club makes terrible signings.

Radford may have been given the impression he is "assistant" but the reality is that he's the U20's coach, the rest is just to save face, Last is U18's coach, that leaves Lynch as the [igenuine[/i assistant and Gentle as head coach.

Smith, Swain, Kearney, Berrigan, O'Meley, Fitzgibbon, Manu, shall I go on?
when talking Premiership Footballers it may be more difficult to attract the top players to the area, but we're talking Rugby League here, are you really saying Hull is less attractive than Warrington, Wigan, Bradford, Huddersfield, Salford, Castleford, Wakefield???
I can see a slight possibility that living in L**ds or Manchester (or surrounding areas) might be more attractive, but when you're earning £140k a season for 3/5 years you're hardly going to be able to afford Alderley Edge.
yes greavsie, meat Hay, apologies (it's early!)

| The big issue here is that pearson has shared his "vision" with us but not let us in on any of the detail about his strategy to achieve it. None of us know what state any part of the club was in prior to the takeover but I'm guessing most of it was worse than we ever thought.
If anything, pearson need to come out and be frank with us about how bad things were, what areas need improving, what his plans are to do something about it and the timescales involved. I appreciate that he won't be able to share everything with us but if we see enough evidence that there is a plan in place and we're working towards success then I'm sure the majority would be happy.

I'm sure Gentle will make it abundantly clear what he expects from them both.
Look at where we were before AP came in and look at us now. There is cause for renewd optimism but we need to remain patient.

Think that's rubbish personally, they will each be given specific roles by Gentle.
Unless of course you have proof to suggest otherwise?

Yes please go.
Interesting that all the players mentioned are from Aust/NZ
When was the last time we attracted a top class English player?
I'm not saying Hull's reputation is a fair one but it is certainly one that is out there.
Local teams struggle to attract players whether it's in Rugby or football unless big money is thrown at them.
The teams you mentioned are all near Cities like Leeds Manchester and Liverpool.
