At the time that it came out I read a little on the smoking ban and there is no requirement for the pitch side of stadiums to be no smoking, however of course the owners of a property can choose to make it non-smoking.

It is right that smoking not be allowed in stadiums IMO, as you can basically be trapped for the duration of a match with a smoker and we all know the risks of passive smoking. So stadium management seem to have made a very sensible decision. Also I would imagine that it makes policing no smoking in the concourse easier for the stewards and less confusing for the fans.

As i said earlier it depends on your interpretation of what an enclosed space is. I would interpret it as a stadium like ours is enclosed.

Create a smoking area and then everyone is happy.

Not really read the thread but has anyone actually thought of telling the stewards about it? I have once this season, a couple of times other seasons too when its really bothered me and they have gone straight in

There is a smoking area. It's quite extensive, in fact. It's sometimes referred to as 'outside'.

they should have one in there all the time.. or at least a coupe walking between them at Half Time

I smoke and have to agree with those complaining about those who can't wait a couple of hours.

Simple fact is no matter how you look at it, it is against the law to smoke inside the stadium end of story..

felt sorry for an old man the other week sharing a roll with his mate ,stewards saw him n escorted him out he must of been about 70 , the bloke not the steward
